Abstract

The conflict of sabah between Malaysia and Sultanate of Sulu happened on February 12, 2013. It caused many died and injured victims. This conflict was started by the action of the Sulu Sultanate which brought the weaponed troops to reclaim the district of Sabah as its authority district, as a result of the past historical vacillation dealing with the legality of ownership the district in Sabah. It was not accepted by the government of Malaysia. So that, shooting each other between military of Malaysia and military of Sultanate Sulu happened. The effort of Sulu Sultanate to reclaim the district of Sabah was the result of the accumulation towards the factors that make conflict-infested happened in Sabah. Sabah is susceptible area where the conflict happen. One of them is the factor of the past historicall towards the legality of ownership in Sabah. Which is still being doubt and the factor of the problems that happen in the Country towards the injustice of Malaysian Government in the district of Sabah, causes the discrepancy in Sabah getting worse. The research method which was used in this research is qualitative method. The accumulation of the data was done by the study of bibliography and documentation, the theories and concepts used to analyze the conflict of Sabah are liberalism, regionalism and regional organization, cooperative security, diplomacy, conflict and conflict resolution, regional dynamics: growth and equity, intra-state conflict. From this research, it can be concluded that the factors which cause conflict-infested getting worse in Sabah is the past historicall dealing with the legality of ownership in Sabah and the domestic problems that happen in district of sabah. The use of military in solving the conflict of Sabah makes this conflict getting worse. It was signed by many died victims and injustice of human right actions, those create the finishing effort towards this conflict is prominent. The use of military power should be stopped as soon as possible and put forward the diplomacy steps and use the ASEAN forum as the conflict resolution.
