Abstract

Emerging adulthood memiliki tugas untuk mengeksplorasi hubungan dengan salah satu caranya adalah menjalani hubungan pacaran. Pacaran yang tidak berdekatan satu sama lain diakibatkan oleh jarak karena faktor pendidikan atau pekerjaan disebut dengan hubungan pacaran jarak jauh atau LDR. Hubungan pacaran jarak jauh sendiri kerap mendapat stigma negatif akibat adanya intensi berselingkuh yang muncul. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi intensi berselingkuh tersebut adalah kesepian yang dapat dirasa berbeda baik dari laki-laki maupun perempuan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana pengaruh kesepian terhadap intensi berselingkuh dengan jenis kelamin sebagai variabel moderator. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah emerging adulthood yang menjalani hubungan pacaran jarak jauh sebanyak 142 partisipan. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah UCLA Loneliness Scale (Version 3) yang terdiri dari 21 item dan Intentions Toward Infidelity Scale yang terdiri dari 6 item. Hasil penelitian ini adalah kesepian mempengaruhi intensi berselingkuh. Namun, jenis kelamin ditemukan tidak memoderasi pengaruh kesepian terhadap intensi berselingkuh./Emerging adulthood has a responsibility to explore relationships, and one of the ways is through dating relationships. One of the phenomenon that is often encountered is long distance relationship (LDR). LDR is a relationship that occurs because it is seperated by distance. LDR can occur due to educational or work factors. LDR itself often gets a negative stigma due to the intention of having an infidelity that appears. One of the factors that influence the intention to have an infidelity is loneliness which can be felt differently from men and women. Therefore, this study aims to see how loneliness affects the intention to have an infidelity with gender as a moderating variable. The subjects in this study were emerging adulthoods who had long-distance relationships as many as 142 participants. The measuring instrument that used in this study are the UCLA Loneliness Scale (Version 3) which consists of 21 items and the Intentions Toward Infidelity Scale which consists of 6 items. The result of this research shows that loneliness affects the intention to have an infidelity. However, gender was found not moderating the effect of loneliness on the intention of infidelity.
