Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tiga variabel yaitu stres, avoidance coping, dan prokrastinasi akademik. Variabel ini dipilih melihat tingkat stres Indonesia yang mencapai 75% dari 1000 orang sample serta korelasi antara stres dengan avoidance coping dan prokrastinasi akademik. Penelitian ini memiliki subjek gamer mahasiswa S1 di Jabodetabek dan memiliki 55 sample. Subjek dipilih karena adanya penelitian dan survei tentang ketiga variabel pada video game khusus nya jam bermain. Penelitian diukur dengan menggunakan tiga alat ukur yaitu perceived stress scale yang telah diadaptasi ke Indonesia oleh Saraswati (2017) untuk variabel stres, BRIEF COPE yang telah diadaptasi ke bahasa Indonesia oleh Widianto (2015),dipakai untuk mengukur avoidance coping, dan skala prokrastinasi akademik oleh Saman (2017) untuk mengukur prokrastinasi akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah stres dapat mempengaruhi avoidance coping dan prokrastinasi akademik. Penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa tingkat stres dapat mempengaruhi avoidance coping dengan signifikansi p = 0 (p<0.005) dan memiliki kekuatan 56,1 % (R2 = 0.561) namun tingkat stres tidak mempengaruhi prokrastinasi akademik dengan hasil uji regresi p = 0.145 dengan kekuatan 19,9% (R2 = 0.199). Hasil penelitian menunjukan stres mempengaruhi tingkat avoidance coping mahasiswa namun tidak dengan tingkat prokrastinasi akademik mahasiswa. / This study used three variables, namely stress, avoidance coping, and academic procrastination. This variables was chosen seeing the result of survey from 1000 Indonesian people 75% of them are experiencing stress. This study has the subject of undergraduate students in Jabodetabek that like to play video games (gamer) and has 55 samples. Subjects were chosen because of research and surveys on the three variables in video games (mainly playing hours). The study was measured using three measuring instruments, namely the perceived stress scale that has been adapted to Indonesia by Saraswati (2017) for stress variables, BRIEF COPE which has been adapted to Indonesian by Widianto (2015), used to measure avoidance coping, and the academic procrastination scale by Saman (2017) to measure academic procrastination. This study aims to see whether stress can affect academic avoidance coping and procrastination. This study shows that the stress level can affect avoidance coping with a significance of p = 0 (p <0.005) with power of 56.1% (R2 = 0.561) but the stress level does not affect academic procrastination with regression test results p = 0.145 with power of 19, 9% (R2 = 0.199). The results showed that stress affects the level of student avoidance coping but not the level of student academic procrastination.
