Abstract

The development of development projects is growing rapidly in various regions. Each region has different soil types. This type of soil affects the strength of the soil. In the construction found obstacles when the soil type has properties and characteristics that are less good. Various attempts have been made to improve the nature and character of the soil. One way to do this is by chemical stabilization method / grouting. Grouting is a method of adding certain materials to the soil that can change the nature and characteristics of the soil to be stronger. However, the materials used are often not environmentally friendly, to keep the addition remain environmentally friendly method of addition discovered by utilizing bacteria called as biogrouting. In addition to biogrouting, the bacteria assist in the calcium carbonate crystal revenue process that will convert sand grains into sandstones so that the soil particles will be more attached to each other so the soil becomes stronger. The test was done by unconfined test, compaction test and CBR (California Bearing Ratio) test. The study has a maintenance period of 14, 28, 60, and 90 days. The results showed an increase in shear strength value in soil samples with Bacillus amyloliquefaciens bacteria of 1038.33% and in Bacillus amyloliquefaciens bacteria mixture with Bacillus megaterium bacteria of 560.83% in unconfined test for 90 days maintenance period. In the CBR test with Bacillus amyloliquefaciens bacteria there was an increase of 44.07% and in the Bacillus amyloliquefaciens and Bacillus megaterium bacteria mixture there was an increase of 5.93%. so it can be concluded that there is an increase in unconfined and CBR test.
