Abstract

Beton merupakan salah satu material yang sering digunakan sebagai material utama dalam konstruksi. Sebagai material utama beton menyebabkan peningkatan produksi semen namun selain itu juga memicu penelitian pembuatan beton tanpa berbasis semen. Telah ditemukan pengganti semen, bahan tersebut adalah abu terbang (fly ash) dan larutan alkali yang kemudian dikenal Beton Geopolimer. Pada beton normal untuk meningkatkan kekuatan dilakukan penggunaan pozzolan untuk mengubah kapur menjadi perekat (CSH). Dari dasar tersebut dilakukan penelitian beton geopolimer dengan penggunaan abu cangkang sawit (pozzolan) untuk melihat pengaruhnya pada beton geopolimer. Mix design yang digunakan diambil dari penelitian sebelumnya yang memiliki workability yang baik. Dalam penelitian dilakukan pengujian kuat tekan dan kuat lentur dari benda uji, dengan variasi penggunaan abu cangkang sawit dan variasi jenis curing. Pada penelitian ini telah didapatkan bahwa penggunaan abu cangkang sawit tidak memberikan pengaruh. Hal ini dapat dilihat pada peningkatan kekuatan yang terjadi yaitu pada abu cangkang sawit produksi adalah 0-2% dan abu cangkang sisa pembakaran adalah 2-4% yang cukup berbeda jauh dengan beton normal dengan penggunaan abu cangkang sawit mampu memberikan peningkatan 35,76%. Jenis curing juga mempengaruhi kekuatan beton geopolimer, dimana beton yang diletakan pada suhu ruangan memiliki kekuatan yang lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan beton geopolimer yang dilakukan steam curing. / Concrete a material that is often used as the main material in construction. As the main material, concrete leads to an increase in cement production but it also trigger research of no cement-based concrete. The substitute of cement has been found, the material is fly ash and alkaline solution which then known as geopolymer concrete. In normal concrete to increase the strength, it use pozzolan to convert lime into adhesive (CSH). From this, there is a geopolymer concrete research with the use of palm kernel shell ash (pozzolan) to see its effect on geopolymer concrete. The mix design that being used is taken from previous research that has good workability. In this experiment, there was test of compressive and flexural strength on specimens, with variation of palm kernel shell ash and curing type. In this study it has been found that the use of palm kernel shell ash has no effect. This can be seen on the increase of the power that occurs on the specimens, from palm kernel shell ash production is 0-2% and the palm kernel shell ash residue is 2-4% which is different from normal concrete with the use of palm kernel shell ash, it can provide an increase of 35.76%. The type of curing also affects the strength of geopolymer concrete, where the concrete placed at room temperature curing has a lower strength compared to the steam curing geopolymer concrete.
