Abstract

Dalam kemajuan dalam bidang Teknik Sipil ini, dalam usaha untuk proses perbaikan maupun perkuatan struktur ada salah satu bahan material yang cukup terkenal yaitu Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP). FRP yang biasa digunakan dalam dunia Teknik Sipil adalah carbon dan fiber glass. Dalam rangka memahami perilaku material tersebut maka akan dilakukan suatu uji coba eksperimental di laboratorium, dalam pengujian tersebut sekaligus akan dilakukan pengujian dua produk yang berbeda, yang satu adalah produk dari perusahan luar negeri yang sudah sangat berpengalaman dalam bidang ini, yang satunya adalah produk dari perusahaan dalam negeri yang sedang melakukan pengembangan produk. Sehingga dalam proses pengujian ini dapat dilihat bagaimana prospek pengembangan dari produk tersebut. Pengujian yang akan dilakukan akan mengacu pada standar yang sudah ada, yaitu ASTM D3039. Pengujian akan dilakukan di laboratorium dengan benda uji berupa potongan serat yang sudah dicampur dan dilapisi dengan resin dan memiliki dimensi 250 mm x 150 mm sebanyak 16 sampel. 4 sampel berupa CFRP produk dalam negeri, 4 sampel berupa CFRP produk luar negeri, 4 sampel berupa GFRP produk dalam negeri dan 4 sampel GFRP produk luar negeri. Dengan mengikuti proses pengujian didapatkan hasil berupa kurva tegangan dan regangan dari semua sampel tersebut dimana FRP luar negeri memiliki kekuatan sedikit lebih baik dibandingkan dengan FRP dalam negeri, dan juga material FRP tidak memiliki titik leleh. / In this modern era of Civil Engineering, Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) is a well-known material that is frequently used in retrofitting and strengthening a building structure. The most common FRP used in Civil Engineering is a combination of carbon and fiber glass. In order to understand the behavior of this material, a laboratory-controlled experiment was conducted. Two different FRPs were used in this particular experiment; FRP that was made by a well-known foreign company specializing in the making of this material, and FRP that was made by a local company whom is currently developing the material. The aim of this experiment is to compare the tensile strength of this two materials, that would be useful for the development of FRP by the local company. The test that were conducted followed a set of standardized procedures from ASTM D3039. The experiment was conducted on a 250 mm x 150 mm fiber sample that was mixed and covered with resin. There was a total of 16 samples; 4 samples of local CFRP, 4 samples of foreign CFRP, 4 samples of local GFRP, and 4 samples of foreign GFRP. From this experiment, it can be deduced from stress and strain curve that FRP made by the foreign company is stronger than the FRP made by the local company, and FRP does not have a yielding point.
