Abstract

The increasing use of social media offers new opportunities for employee learning on the job. This research designed to investigating how impactful social media to scale up learning on the job. Culture of dialoque and inquiry was expected strengthen the relationship between sosial media uses with work-related learning. Data collected from employee via questionnaire. Then data tabulation was showed with validity test, reliability test, independent sample t test, bivariate correlation dan linear regression. Validity and reliability was investigated from 35 respondents. After that, complete data from 112 respondents get further investigation and analysis. Results showed that the more often employees used social media in their job, the more often they participated in learning activities. Contrary to expectation, this relationship was not influenced by culture of dialogue and inquiry. Instead, the perception of a culture of dialogue and inquiry directly related to learning on the job. The findings suggest that organizations could consider stimulating the use of social media among employees to support work-related learning. / Peningkatan penggunaan media sosial membuka peluang baru untuk pegawai belajar di tempat kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki seberapa besar pengaruh media sosial terhadap peningkatan pembelajaran di tempat kerja. Budaya dialog dan mengajukan pertanyaan diharapkan akan semakin meningkatkan hubungan antara penggunaan media sosial dengan work-related learning. Data dikumpulkan dengan melakukan penyebaran kuesioner. Data diolah dengan menggunakan uji validitas, reliabilitas, independent sample t test, bivariate correlation dan linear regression. Pengukuran dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner ke 35 orang responden, yang kemudian diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Setelah itu baru dilakukan penyebaran kepada 112 orang responden (terdiri dari 2 perusahaan startup) dan kemudian baru dilakukan analisis. Dari hasil penelitian dapat dibuktikan bahwa semakin sering pengawai menggunakan media sosial dalam pekerjaan mereka, semakin sering mereka berpartisipasi dalam aktivitas belajar. Budaya dialog dan mengajukan pertanyaan tidak mempengaruhi hubungan kedua variabel tersebut. Budaya dialog dan mengajukan justru berkaitan langsung dengan work-related learning. Penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa organisasi dapat mempertimbangkan menggunakan media sosial untuk mendorong workrelated learning.
