Abstract

Dewasa muda (20-40 tahun) merupakan masa eksplorasi diri yang berfokus pada pendidikan, pekerjaan, dan identitas melalui hubungan interpersonal yang lebih intim atau biasa disebut dengan hubungan romantis berpacaran. Dalam menjalin hubungan romantis tidaklah mudah, terlebih pada hubungan yang terjalin secara jarak jauh atau long-distance relationship (LDR). Hubungan yang terjalin dengan kondisi LDR secara nyata berbeda dengan hubungan romantis yang pada umumnya dijalani, yaitu adanya keterpisahan fisik individu oleh karena adanya jarak yang ada. Terlebih lagi, studi-studi yang telah dilakukan menemukan bahwa pasangan LDR membutuhkan usaha lebih untuk dapat mempertahankan hubungannya karena tidak jarang juga terjadi konflik yang berbeda pula. Oleh karena itu, pasangan LDR membutuhkan strategi penyelesaian konflik yang tepat dalam menyelesaikan konflik yang ada meskipun dalam kondisi yang berbeda. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan sampel individu berusia 20-40 tahun, sedang menjalani hubungan romantis berpacaran selama minimal satu tahun, dan sedang menjalani LDR selama minimal tiga bulan. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Experience in Close-Relationship Revised (ECR-R) dan Romantic Partner Conflict Scale (RPCS). Adapun hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah dimensi attachment avoidance berkorelasi positif dengan strategi penyelesaian konflik interactional reactivity, separation, domination, dan submission. Di sisi lain, dimensi attachment avoidance ditemukan berkorelasi negatif dengan strategi penyelesaian konflik compromise. Sedangkan, dimensi attachment anxiety berkorelasi positif dengan strategi penyelesaian konflik interactional reactivity, separation, domination, dan submission. Namun, dimensi attachment anxiety tidak ditemukan berhubungan dengan strategi penyelesaian konflik compromise dan avoidance. / Young adults (20-40 years) are a period of self-exploration that focuses on education, work, and identity through more intimate interpersonal relationships or commonly called romantic dating relationships. In establishing a romantic relationship is not easy, especially in relationships that are long-distance condotions or long-distance relationships (LDR). The relationship that exists with LDR conditions is significantly different from the romantic relationship that is generally undertaken, namely the physical separation of individuals due to distance. Moreover, studies that have been conducted have found that LDR couples need more effort to maintain a relationship because it is not uncommon for different conflicts to occur. Therefore, LDR couples need the right conflict resolution strategy in resolving existing conflicts even in different conditions. This study was conducted using a sample of individuals aged 20-40 years, currently having an affair for at least one year, and currently undergoing LDR for at least three months. The sample selection was done using purposive sampling technique. The measuring instruments used in this research are Experience in Close-Relationship Revised (ECR-R) and Romantic Partner Conflict Scale (RPCS). The results obtained are that the attachment avoidance dimension is positively related to the interactional reactivity conflict resolution strategy, separation, domination, and submission. On the other hand, the attachment avoidance dimension was found to be negatively correlated with conflict-compromise resolution strategies. Whereas the dimension of attachment anxiety has a positive correlation with conflict resolution strategies of interactional reactivity, separation, domination, and submission. However, the dimension of attachment anxiety was not found to be associated with conflict resolution, compromise and avoidance strategies.
