Abstract

It is crucial to instil character values from an early age, to have morally noble future generation, one is through character education program. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the character education program carried out by Candle Tree Kindergarten since 2018/2019, to improve, enhance and perfection. This evaluation adopts CIPP method, which is an acronym for Context, Input, Process, and Product. Qualitative and descriptive quantitative are employed to mutually promote evaluation results, questionnaire, interviews, observation, and documentation data collection methods were used. To interpret various standpoints of interest, different sources were taken, at the same time triangulation of sources were applied. The result on this study showed the evaluation of a) Context, it has potential and capability to implement the program, but the program objectives were integrated in school’s vision and mission; b) Input, in need of attention for program curriculum, budgeting, and variety of methods; c) Process, in need of improvement for virtual interaction, medium of instruction, assessment guides, frequency, and program documentation; d) Product, program results are in accordance with the characters instilled and it triggers other values. This evaluation findings can be used for Candle Tree Kindergarten Management in order to expand the program. / Sejak dini, karakter perlu ditanamkan agar kelak para penerus bangsa memiliki karakter dan akhlak yang mulia, salah satunya lewat program pendidikan karakter. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi program pendidikan karakter yang dilakukan oleh KB-TK Candle Tree sejak tahun ajaran 2018/2019 untuk perbaikan, peningkatan, dan kesempurnaan. Studi evaluasi ini menggunakan metode CIPP yang merupakan akronim dari Context, Input, Process, dan Product. Pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif deskriptif digunakan untuk saling mendukung hasil evaluasi, dengan teknik pengumpulan data kuesioner, wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Untuk memahami berbagai sudut pandang, diambil berbagai narasumber sekaligus sebagai triangulasi sumber. Hasil evaluasi program pendidikan karakter di KB-TK Candle Tree berdasarkan evaluasi a) Context, memiliki potensi dan kesanggupan untuk melaksanakan program, namun masih memiliki tujuan yang terintegrasi dengan visi misi sekolah; b) Input, perlu perhatian untuk penyusunan kurikulum program, pendanaan, serta variasi dalam metode; c) Process, implementasi program kurang dalam interaksi saat online, Bahasa penyampaian, rubik penilaian, frekuensi, dan dokumentasi program, d) Product, hasil program sesuai dengan penguatan lima karakter, serta nilai-nilai lainnya. Evaluasi ini dapat berguna untuk manajemen KB-TK Candle Tree agar dapat mengembangkan program pendidikan karakter.
