Abstract

Penuaan dapat menyebabkan masalah estetika dan penyakit seperti kanker. Penyebab utama penuaan disebabkan oleh faktor lingkungan seperti paparan sinar UV yang menghasilkan radikal bebas dan hiperpigmentasi. Pencegahan penuaan dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan bahan kosmetik herbal yang dapat melindungi kulit dari pengaruh negatif sinar UV, salah satunya adalah biji nangka dan cempedak. Dalam penelitian ini, analisa ekstrak crude, fraksi heksana, fraksi etil asetat, dan fraksi etanol dari biji nangka dan cempedak dalam melindungi kulit dilakukan menggunakan uji aktivitas antioksidan (metode DPPH), uji fotoprotektif terhadap sinar UV, dan aktivitas pemutihan kulit (metode inhibisi tirosinase). Pada biji nangka, aktivitas antioksidan dan fotoprotektif terbaik dimiliki fraksi etanol (IC50 144,836 ± 1,503 ppm dan SPF 38,826 ± 1,689) sementara inhibisi tirosinase terbaik dimiliki fraksi etil asetat (IC50 30,429 ± 0,425 ppm). Pada biji cempedak, aktivitas antioksidan terbaik dimiliki fraksi etanol (IC50 92,346 ± 1,877 ppm) sementara fotoprotektif dan inhibisi tirosinase terbaik dimiliki fraksi etil asetat (SPF 43,349 ± 0,363 dan IC50 6,695 0,311 ppm). Kedua biji memiliki potensi melindungi kulit dari sinar UV dengan biji cempedak memiliki potensi lebih baik daripada biji nangka.
