Abstract

Menjalin hubungan lawan jenis adalah salah satu cara untuk memenuhi krisis psikososial Erikson pada tahap young adulthood, yaitu intimacy. Semakin berjalannya waktu, menjalin hubungan beda agama merupakan suatu hal yang lumrah bagi sebagian besar orang di Indonesia. Namun, undang-undang yang mengatur pernikahan di Indonesia hanya mengesahkan pernikahan yang juga disahkan oleh kepercayaan/agama masing-masing individu. Hal ini dapat menjurus kepada ketidaksiapan menikah individu yang menjalin hubungan beda agama. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan adanya hope agar individu dapat memotivasi dirinya serta mencari cara untuk mencapai tujuan mejalin hubungan beda agama tersebut. Studi ini bertujuan untuk meneliti apakah hope memiliki korelasi dengan kesiapan menikah kepada 55 individu yang menjalani hubungan beda agama. Penelitian dilakukan secara kuantitatif dengan menggunakan instrument penelitian The Hope Scale dan Modifikasi Inventori Kesiapan Menikah. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan signifikan antara variabel hope dan kesiapan menikah (rs=.268, p<.05). Artinya, semakin tinggi hope maka semakin tinggi juga kesiapan menikah. Sebaliknya, semakin tinggi kesiapan menikah individu semakin tinggi juga hope. / Establishing a relationship with the opposite sex is one way to meet Erikson's psychosocial crisis at the young adulthood stage, namely intimacy. As time went on, establishing interfaith relationships was a common thing for most people in Indonesia. However, the laws that regulate marriage in Indonesia only legalize marriages that are also legalized by the beliefs / religions of each individual. This can lead to the marriage unreadiness to individuals undergoing interfaith relationships. Therefore, there is a need for hope so that individuals can motivate themselves and find ways to achieve their goal to maintain these interfaith relationships. This study aims to examine whether hope has a correlation with marriage readiness among 55 individuals who have interfaith relationships. The research was conducted quantitatively using The Hope Scale and Modifikasi Inventori Kesiapan Menikah. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between hope and marriage readiness (rs = .268, p <.05). This means that the higher the hope, the higher the readiness to marry. Conversely, the higher an individual's readiness to marry, the higher the hope.
