Abstract

Manajemen persediaan dapat membantu pemilik toko dalam mengelola persediaan produk mereka dari waktu ke waktu. Hal ini penting untuk menghindari potensi terjadinya kekurangan stok yang dapat menimbulkan kesan adanya ketidakmampuan pemilik toko memenuhi permintaan konsumen. Berkaitan dengan hal ini, pemilik Toko Istana Plastik Manado menyadari perlunya melakukan migrasi dari manajemen persediaan secara tradisional ke manajemen inventori berbasis teknologi informasi. Diharapkan dengan migrasi tersebut, praktek-praktek manual seperti pencatatan stok barang menggunakan buku dan pendataan transaksi penjualan harian menggunakan worksheet Microsoft Excel, dapat digantikan dengan cara yang lebih terintegrasi. Pada saat bersamaan, kejadian seperti adanya selisih antara stok barang yang ada di gudang dengan pencatatan stok barang dapat dihindari. Dengan kata lain, dokumentasi keluar masuknya barang baik di gudang dan di toko menjadi rapi. Tambahan, informasi yang dikandung didalamnya mempunyai akurasi yang jauh lebih tinggi. Solusi yang diusulkan untuk membantu pemilik Toko Istana Plastik Manado dalam membenahi manajemen persediaan adalah sebuah sistem informasi pengelolaan persediaan barang terintegrasi antara gudang dan toko. Sistem informasi yang diusulkan ini juga dapat membantu kegiatan operasional harian meliputi penjualan dan pembelian barang. Dengan adanya sistem informasi ini, diharapkan dapat tercapai kondisi safety stock untuk mengantisipasi kerugian secara tak langsung akibat ketiadaan stok. Penelitian yang dilakukan di dalam upaya pengembangan sistem manajemen persediaan mengikuti metodologi penelitian kualitatif. Sedangkan pengembangan sistem mengikuti metodologi Rapid Application Development (RAD) khususnya metode Prototyping. Hasil dari pengujian menggunakan metode black-box menunjukkan bahwa sistem informasi manajemen persediaan berbasis web yang dibangun dapat menyediakan informasi keluar masuk barang yang lebih akurat dibanding sistem manual. Untuk pengembangan lebih lanjut sistem ini dapat dilengkapi dengan fitur penyediaan informasi status stok barang melalui pembuatan toko daring (online) serta notifikasi instan untuk manajer gudang mengenai permintaan barang dari manajer toko / Inventory management can help store owners manage their product inventory over time. This is important to avoid the potential for a shortage of stock that can give the appearance of the shop owner's inability to meet consumer demand. In this regard, the owners of Toko Istana Plastik Manado are aware of the need to migrate from traditional inventory management to information technology-based inventory management. It is hoped that with this migration, manual practices such as recording stock items using a book and recording daily sales transactions using Microsoft Excel worksheets, can be replaced by a more integrated way. At the same time, events such as a difference between the stock items in the warehouse and the inventory records can be avoided. In other words, documentation of the entry and exit of goods both in the warehouse and in the store is neat. In addition, the information it contains has much higher accuracy. The solution proposed to assist the owner of the Toko Istana Plastik Manado in improving inventory management is an integrated inventory management information system between warehouses and stores. This proposed information system can also support daily operational activities including the sale and purchase of goods. With this information system, it is hoped that a safety stock condition can be achieved to anticipate indirect losses due to lack of stock. Research conducted in an effort to develop an inventory management system follows a qualitative research methodology. Meanwhile, system development follows the Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology, especially the Prototyping method. The results of the test using the black-box method show that the web-based inventory management information system that is built can provide more accurate information in and out of goods than the manual system. For further development, this system can be equipped with a feature that provides information on the status of stock items through the creation of an online shop as well as instant notification for warehouse managers regarding requests for goods from store managers.
