Abstract

Mass media, as agents of culture, reflect the general condition of society. Among the existing mass media, there are some that are closely linked to specific segments, for example, women’s magazines. One of the women’s magazines is Cita Cinta, which has target audience of 20 to 30-year-old women, and the “CC Single” section is no exception. The researcher analyzes Cita Cinta’s “CC Single” section because this section specifically discusses issues about single women. This research aims at investigating how the “CC Single” constructs Indonesian women reality. This research uses a qualitative content analysis method based on Entman’s analysis framing. Result from this research shows that Cita Cinta constructs single women as independent women capable of determining their life path, have high education and pursue a career. The researcher suggests that Cita Cinta maintains the “CC Single” section and keeps motivating Indonesian women to fight for their rights. / Media massa sebagai agen budaya mencerminkan kondisi masyarakat secara umum. Diantara berbagai media massa yang ada, terdapat berbagai macam majalah yang ‘dekat’ dengan segmen tertentu, contohnya majalah perempuan. Salah satu majalah perempuan tersebut adalah majalah Cita Cinta yang ditujukan bagi kaum perempuan usia 20-30 tahun. Majalah Cita Cinta dalam setiap rubriknya membahas berbagai hal tentang perempuan, tak terkecuali pada rubrik “CC Single”. Penulis meneliti rubrik “CC Single” di majalah Cita Cinta karena rubrik “CC Single” merupakan rubrik yang khusus membahas mengenai perempuan lajang dan dimuat pada setiap edisi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkapkan bagaimana rubrik “CC Single” mengkonstruksi perempuan Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis isi kualitatif dengan menggunakan analisis framing dengan model Entman. Penelitian ini menghasilkan kesimpulan bahwa majalah Cita Cinta berani mengangkat keberadaan perempuan lajang melalui rubrik “CC Single” dan perempuan lajang di Indonesia dikonstruksikan sebagai perempuan yang mandiri, mampu menentukan jalan hidupnya, berpendidikan tinggi dan mengejar karier. Sehingga saran yang dapat diberikan adalah agar majalah Cita Cinta tetap mempertahankan rubrik “CC Single” dan terus memotifasi perempuan Indonesia untuk selalu memperjuangkan harkat dan martabat perempuan
