Abstract

In this new age, technology is growing in a rapid way, especially in robot technology. This human created product has been implemented on several aspects of our life, not only on industrial side but also on our daily life. Since humanoid robot became the most interested object to develop, there is an idea to design and build a prototype of robot. Through this final project, a prototype of head robot will be built. To build this prototype, several components are concerned well. For the needs of simulation and presentation, two acrylic boxes are used. Besides, USB Education Development Board that is compatible with BASIC Stamp 2 IC Module as the brain of the prototype, two servomotors as the actuator and a CMUcaml AppMod Vision System as the sensing system to capture the object's color. Through several simulations, this prototype has shown the tum left, right, turn top and down motion successfully which is stated as the goal of project. However, there are several drawbacks such as the system difficulty to differentiate colors in non-contrast environments, no reference point, and need to be restarted when the object is changed.
