Abstract

Initially the usage of manual machineries cause no problem. It provides relatively cheap labor cost, so economically speaking, manual machinaries are still the first option for small to intermediate industries generally. At the present times though, it has been noticed that human labors are starting to create problems, the rising minimum wage is an anxiety that reside in the mind of employers for quite sometimes now. Should the employer address this issue by trying to minimize labour cost, he or she might end up with workers that are not adequate to operate the machines, this of course will create further troubles. In this final project will alter a manual printing machine to one that is semiautomatic. The design and uses of this machine will ease the operator burden, if compared to the manual version. The operator will not be concerned by the long time needed to set up the machine, nor will they be stuck in repetitive motions. All the repetitive motions needed to be done will be done by machines, and not human. The result of this final is a machine that’s easy to operate and will speed up the process of hot stamping. . While in trial, this machine was able to function according to the selected system. In the printing process this machine shows 100% of success rate in descending the pneumatic valve. There are few issues in the optocoupler sensor, caused by the short shape of the optocoupler itself. These glitches caused the data obtain to be a bit unclear. Another issue is the dc motor rotation that’s too fast, which caused readings from the optocoupler sensor somewhat inaccurate. The later issue however was solved by reducing the voltage for the motor. The original voltage was 12v, the voltage that was effective is 3-5v, this change is needed to slow down the rotation of paper spinning axis so that the sensor will have much more accurate readings.
