Abstract

Mencuci tangan adalah prosedur kesehatan yang paling penting dan salah satu faktor yang mempunyai pengaruh besar terhadap pencegahan infeksi nosokomial di rumah sakit. Data awal penelitian berdasarkan pengamatan peneliti pada rentang waktu mulai dari 22 Februari- 28 Februari 2018 di satu Rumah Sakit Swasta Indonesia Bagian Tengah, terlihat dari total pengunjung yaitu sebanyak 120 orang hanya 7 orang (5.84%) yang melakukan cuci tangan pada jam berkunjung 17.30- 20.00 WITA. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perilaku pengunjung dalam melakukan cuci tangan sebelum dan sesudah berkunjung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Sampel yang diambil yaitu sebanyak 294 responden. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah accidental sampling. Analisis yang digunakan yaitu analisis univariat untuk menghitung distribusi frekuensi dari mencuci tangan pengunjung sebelum dan sesudah berkunjung. Hasil yang didapatkan dari 294 responden yaitu 83% responden yang tidak melakukan cuci tangan sebelum berkunjung, dan 75% responden yang tidak melakukan cuci tangan sesudah berkunjung. Sehingga didapatkan kesimpulan bahwa tingginya presentase tidak mencuci tangan sebelum dan sesudah menunjukan bahwa perilaku cuci tangan pengunjung di satu rumah sakit masih kurang baik. Diharapakan kepada rumah sakit agar lebih memberi edukasi walaupun sarana sudah memadai, kepada penelitian berikutnya diharapkan dapat lebih mengembangkan metode seperti kuisioner dan wawancara = Hand washing is the most important health procedure and one of the factors that has a major effect on the prevention of nosocomial infections in hospitals. Preliminary research data based on observations of researchers in the span of time from February 22nd to February 28th , 2018 on the one of a Private Hospital in Central Indonesia involving the total visitor of 120 people. Only 7 people (5.84%) did hand washing during the visiting hours (17.30-20.00) of Central Indonesia Time. The purpose of this study is to determine the behaviour of visitor in carrying out hand washing before and after visiting patients. This research used quantitative descriptive method. The samples were 294 visitors. The sampling technique used is accidental sampling. The analysis used the univariate analysis to calculate the frequency distribution from hand washing of visitors before and after visiting. The result showed that percentage who did not wash their hands before was 83% and after visiting was 75%. In conclusion the highest percentage that did not wash their hands showed that lack attitude of visitor in inpatient department. Suggestion for the hospital to give more education eventhough the facility was suffice, for other researcher can develop the method such as quitioner and interview.
