Abstract

Limbah medis tajam memiliki resiko terhadap kesehatan seperti penularan penyakit dan keselamatan kerja. Tenaga kesehatan khususnya perawat di rumah sakit rentan terhadap resiko pengelolaan limbah medis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran pengelolaan limbah medis medis tajam oleh perawat tahap awal di ruang rawat inap di satu rumah sakit Swasta Indonesia Bagian Barat. Penelitian ini berupa observasi menggunakan SOP pengelolaan limbah medis tajam pada perawat yang melakukan tindakan yang menggunakan benda medis tajam di ruang rawat inap rumah sakit Swasta Indonesia Barat pada bulan Juni 2018. Metode penelitian adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan metode sampling probability sampling dengan teknik purposive sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah tindakan perawat dalam pengelolaan limbah medis tajam di ruang rawat inap di rumah sakit Swasta Indonesia Barat yang berjumlah berjumlah 64 tindakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tahap perencanaan dikategorikan baik dengan persentase tertinggi mencapai 85,9%, sedangkan pada tahap pelaksanaan terdapat tindakan yang mencapai persentase 89,1%, namun masih terdapat beberapa tindakan yang memiliki kategori kurang baik dengan persentase terendah 39,1%. Pengelolaan limbah medis tajam dalam tahap perencanaan memiliki persentase lebih tinggi dibandingkan tahap pelaksanaan secara keseluruhan = Sharp medical waste has health risks such as disease transmission and occupational safety. Health workers especially nurses in hospitals are vulnerable to the risk of managing medical waste. This study aims to determine the description of sharp medical medical waste management by early stage nurses in inpatient rooms in one Western Indonesian Private Hospital. This research is an observation using SOP of sharp medical waste management for nurses who take actions that use sharp medical objects in the inpatients of Western Indonesia Private Hospital in June 2018. The research method is quantitative descriptive with probability sampling method with purposive sampling technique. The sample in this study is the action of nurses in the management of sharp medical waste in inpatient rooms in private hospitals in West Indonesia, amounting to 64 actions. The results showed that the planning stage was categorized as good with the highest percentage reaching 85.9%, while at the implementation stage there were actions that reached a percentage of 89.1%, but there were still some actions that had a poor category with the lowest percentage of 39.1%. Sharp medical waste management in the planning stage has a higher percentage than the overall implementation stage.
