Abstract

Universal Precaution (Kewaspadaan Universal) didefinisikan sebagai upaya pengendalian infeksi yang dilakukan oleh seluruh tenaga kesehatan untuk mengurangi risiko penyebaran infeksi baik yang berasal dari pasien kepada petugas kesehatan maupun sebaliknya. Perawat merupakan salah satu pemberi layanan kesehatan yang senantiasa dituntut dapat memberikan pelayanan yang berkualitas kepada pasien. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran kepatuhan perawat dalam penerapan universal precaution. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif dengan Instrumen penelitian yaitu kuesioner yang sebelumnya telah dilakukan uji validitas dan reabilitas dengan sampel penelitian sejumlah 91 responden. Analisa data yang digunakan menggunakan analisa univariat. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perilaku kepatuhan dalam penerapan kewaspadan universal terbesar adalah pengolahan limbah yaitu sebanyak 71 responden (78,02%) dan pengolahan alat kesehatan dan lingkungan memiliki persentase terendah yaitu 21 responden (23,07%) = Universal precaution is defined as an infection control effort undertaken by all health personnel to reduce the risk of spreading infection either from patients to health workers or vice versa. Nurse is one of the health care providers who are always required to provide quality services to patients. The purpose of this study is to find out the description of nurse compliance in the application of universal precaution. This research uses descriptive quantitative method with instrument used is the questionnaire that has been tested the validity and reliability with a sample of 91respondents. Data analysis used univariate analysis. The results obtained that compliance behavior in the largest application of universal precaution is waste treatment that is as much as 71 respondents (78,02%). And processing of health and environmental equipment has the lowes percentage that is only 21 respondents (23,07%).
