Abstract

Studies have shown that although teaching is considered as a noble proffession, it is also said to be one of the most stressful professions. Many teachers are suffering from impaired physical and mental health. The purpose of this study was to investigate happiness and perceived organizational support as predictors of teachers’ health with job satisfaction as the mediating role. The research subjects were 59 high school teachers of XYZ School. Self-administered questionnaires were given to each respondent containing questions about their physical and mental health, happiness, perceived organizational support, and job satisfaction. The research design used was path analysis with a quantitative approach. The results of the research showed that happiness and perceived organizational support were significant predictors of teachers’ health and job satisfaction fully mediates both happiness and perceived organizational support and teachers’ health. The conclusion of this study is that teachers that experience happiness and feel that there is support in their workplace tend to satisfied with their jobs and as a result tend to have healtier lives. / Banyak penelitian yang mengungkapkan bahwa selain sebagi pekerjaan yang mulia, mengajar juga dikatakan sebagai pekerjaan yang sering mendatangkan stress yang memicu kesehatan guru baik fisik maupun mental menjadi terganggu. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menginvestigasi dampak dari variabel kebahagian dan persepsi dukungan organisasi terhadap kesehatan guru dengan kepuasan kerja sebagai variabel mediasi. Subjek penelitian adalah 59 guru-guru yang mengajar di Sekolah XYZ. Kuesioner diberikan ke masing-masing responden dengan pertanyaan-pertanyaan mengenai kesehatan fisik dan mental mereka, kebahagiaan, persepsi dukungan, dan kepuasan kerja. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis jalur dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa kebahagiaan dan persepsi dukungan organisasi mempengaruhi kesehatan guru secara positif dan kepuasan kerja sepenuhnya memediasi kedua variabel kebahagiaan dan persepsi dukungan organisasi, dengan kesehatan guru. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa kesehatan guru-guru bisa terjaga dengan jika mereka merasakan kebahagiaan dan adanya dukungan organisasi melalui kepuasan bekerja di sekolah masing-masing.
