Abstract

Transformational leaders are charismatic and inspirational leaders, coupled with the ability to stimulate pupils to be more creative and innovative and have the ability as guides or mentors. A teacher in the class is expected to have transformational leadership skills derived from his ability to think critically, analytically and evaluative. Indirectly critical thinking skills will also affect how a teacher uses his cognitive domain to analyze complex information into small parts and relate it to other information, articulate certain concepts and then combine elements and create new information into a whole concept and ultimately making full judgments and decisions by comparing values, methods, ideas and make them as part of the cognitive domain. This research uses quantitative method to find relation between dependent variable and independent variable. Use SPSS for calculations whose results will be read using descriptive statistics, inferential statistics and hypothesis tests. Subjects of research are thirty teachers who have taught over one year. The result of this research is as follow: positive effects are found among the variables of critical thinking and transformational leadership, cognitive ability and transformational leadership and the influence of critical thinking and cognitive ability stimultaneously to transformational leadership. / Pemimpin yang transformasional adalah pemimpin yang karistmatik dan inspirasional dengan kemampuan menstimulasi murid untuk lebih kreatif dan inovatif dan memiliki kemampuan sebagai pembimbing atau mentor. Seorang guru di dalam kelas diharapkan memiliki kemampuan untuk memimpin secara transformasional yang didapatkan dari kebiasaan membaca analitis yang nantinya akan mempengaruhi kemampuannya berpikir secara kritis, analitis dan evaluatif. Secara tidak langsung kemampuan berpikir kritis juga akan mempengaruhi bagaimana seorang guru menggunakan ranah kognisinya untuk menganalisa informasi kompleks menjadi bagian-bagian kecil dan mengaitkannya dengan informasi lain, menjabarkan konsep tertentu dan setelah itu mengkombinasikan elemen-elemen dan menciptakan informasi baru menjadi konsep utuh dan pada akhirnya membuat penilaian dan keputusan yang utuh dengan membandingkan nilai-nilai, metode, ide dan sebaginya adalah bagian dari domain kognisi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif untuk menemukan relasi antarar variabel dependen dan variabel independen. Menggunakan SPSS untuk penghitungan yang hasilnya akan dibaca dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif, statistik inferensial dan uji hipotesa. Subyek penelitian adalah tiga puluh guru-guru yang sudah mengajar diatas satu tahun. Hasil penelitian adalah ditemukan pengaruh yang positif antara kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kemampuan kognitif terhadap kepemimpinan transformasional.
