Abstract

This research is a case study that took place at the XYZ Nursing Academy which experienced management transfer in 2017. The XYZ Foundation as the nursing management body employs many Nursing Masters graduates graduating from local and foreign universities. Most of these lecturers are lecturers who do not have teaching experience and retired lecturers. Based on the results of interviews and classroom observations, XYZ Nursing Academy lecturers expressed their lack of confidence in their pedagogical competences. The lecturers feel the need to know whether they have carried out the learning process correctly, can achieve learning goals and prepare students to become professional nurses. Lecturers are the spearhead in the learning process. Competent lecturers are a prerequisite in the realization of the vision and mission of the XYZ Nursing Academy in producing competent graduates. This study aims to analyze pedagogical competencies of permanent lecturers at the XYZ Nursing Academy. The research method used is: qualitative research with a case study approach. The research informants were five Permanent Lecturers from the XYZ Nursing Academy and 1 Managing Director. Data collection used in conducting research in the form of essay questionnaires, multiple choice questionnaires, semistructured interviews and documents. Based on the results of data analysis, many indicators of the achievement of pedagogical competencies of lecturers at the XYZ Nursing Academy were not fulfilled. The results of this study are useful for the XYZ Nursing Academy in planning in improving the competence of lecturers. / Penelitian ini merupakan sebuah studi kasus yang teijadi di Akademi Keperawatan XYZ yang mengalami alih kelola pada tahun 2017. Yayasan XYZ sebagai badan pengelola Akademi Keperawatan mempekeijakan banyak dosen lulusan Magister Keperawatan dari dalam dan luar negeri. Kebanyakan dari dosen tersebut adalah dosen yang belum mempunyai pengalaman mengajar dan dosen yang berusia pensiun. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dan observasi kelas, dosen Akademi Keperawatan XYZ mengekspresikan kekurangyakinan mereka akan kemampuan pedagogik mereka. Para dosen merasa perlu untuk mengetahui apakah mereka sudah melakukan proses pembelajaran secara benar, dapat mencapai tujuan pembelajaran dan mempersiapkan mahasiswa untuk menjadi perawat yang profesional. Dosen merupakan ujung tombak dalam proses pembelajaran . Dosen yang kompeten menjadi prasyarat di dalam perwujudan visi dan misi Akademi Keperawatan XYZ dalam menghasilkan lulusan yang kompeten. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kompetensi pedagogik dosen tetap di Akademi Keperawatan XYZ. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu : penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Informan penelitian adalah lima Dosen Tetap dari Akademi Keperawatan XYZ dan 1 orang Pejabat Direktur. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan di dalam melakukan penelitian berupa kuesioner esai, kuesioner pilihan ganda, wawancara semi terstruktur dan dokumen. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, banyak indikator pencapaian kompetensi pedagogik dosen di Akademi Keperawatan XYZ tidak terpenuhi. Hasil penelitian ini bermanfaat bagi Akademi Keperawatan XYZ dalam membuat perencanaan dalam meningkatkan kompetensi dosen.
