Abstract

Paviliun Umum Rumah Sakit Siloam memiliki departemen infection control yang telah menyediakan fasilitas berupa handrub, wastafel beserta sabun cuci tangan dan tissue kering pada setiap ruangan, lift dan tempat – tempat umum. Infeksi yang ditimbulkan di rumah sakit bisa menyebar dari manapun bahkan dari keluarga atau pengunjung pasien untuk itu penting menjaga kebersihan tangan di rumah sakit. WHO mengeluarkan enam langkah mencuci tangan yang efektif untuk menghindari penularan infeksi. Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui gambaran pengetahuan pengunjung pasien mengenai enam langkah mencuci tangan. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan penggunaan teknik accidentally sampling. Penelitian dilakakukan di ruang rawat inap lantai 2 Medical Surgical Paviliun Umum Rumah Sakit Siloam. Penelitian menggunakan kuesioner yang disusun oleh peneliti sendiri serta sudah melewati uji validitas dan reabilitas. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu terdapat 21 responden yang termasuk dalam ketegori memiliki pengetahuan yang baik mengenai enam langkah mencuci tangan (22%), 34 responden memiliki pengetahuan yang cukup (36%) dan sebanyak 40 responden memiliki pengetahuan yang kurang (42%). Dari penelitian ini, rumah sakit diharapkan dapat meningkatkan usaha dalam mensosialisasikan pentingnya melakukan enam langkah mencuci tangan / The Pavilion General Hospital Siloam has depatemen infection control which has provided facilities be handrub and a sink with handsoap and dry tissue in each room an elevator, and a public place. This may cause infection in the hospital can spread from anywhere even from the patient's family or visitors to, it's important keep hand hygiene in hospitals. The WHO issued the six steps for effective hand washing to avoid the transmission of infection. The purpose of this research is to know the description of knowledge regarding patient visitors six-step hand washing. The method used is descriptive quantitative sampling technique by accidentally. Research on Inpatient room 2nd floor Medical Surgical Pavilion General Hospital of Siloam. Research using questionnaires compiled by the researchers themselves and had passed the test validity and reabilitas. The results of this research are the twenty-one respondents are included in requirements have a good knowledge about the six steps of hand washing (22%), 34 respondents have enough knowledge (36%) and as many as 40 of the respondents have knowledge less (42%). From this research, the hospital is expected to boost efforts in disseminating the importance of doing six step hand washing.
