Abstract

Infeksi nosokomial berasal dan terjadi di rumah sakit dimana salah satu faktor penyebabnya adalah ketika pengunjung pasien tidak melakukan prosedur mencuci tangan sebelum/sesudah mengunjungi pasien. Alasan pengunjung pasien tidak mencuci tangan adalah tidak mengetahui tujuan, tidak mengetahui informasi atau mendengar informasi tentang prosedur mencuci tangan. Mengidentifikasi tentang tingkat pengetahuan tentang prosedur mencuci tangan pengunjung pasien di Ruang Rawat Inap Siloam Hospitals Labuan Bajo. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuantitatif deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk menggambarkan fenomena, gambaran, atau situasi masalah yang terjadi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah pengunjung pasien Siloam Hospitals Labuan Bajo di IPD (Ruang Rawat Inap). Sampel dipilih berdasarkan accidental sampling yaitu sampel yang tersedia dan bersedia dengan jumlah 32 sampel. Instrumen yang digunakan berdasarkan prosedur mencuci tangan 6 langkah milik WHO. Analisa data yang digunakan adalah univariat yang disajikan dalam bentuk tabel distribusi frekuensi dan persentase. Hasil penelitian yang didapatkan sebagian besar 17 responden dengan persentase 53% memiliki pengetahuan baik, responden yang memiliki pengetahuan cukup berjumlah 13 orang dengan persentase 41% dan yang memiliki pengetahuan kurang adalah 2 responden dengan persentase 6%. Kesimpulan prosedur mencuci tangan yang dilakukan oleh pengunjung pasien diperlukan adanya evaluasi oleh Divisi Keperawatan Siloam Hospitals Labuan Bajo guna meningkatkan pengetahuan pengunjung pasien / Nosocomial infections originated and occurred in the hospital where one of the contributing factor is patient visitor not do handwashing procedures before and after they visit patients. The reason of family members not washing their hands was they were not aware of the purpose and not knowing the information related or even hearing information about hand washing procedures. To know the description of patient’s knowledge level in performing handwashing procedure at Siloam Hospitals Labuan Bajo. This research used quantitative descriptive design that aims to describe the phenomenon, an idea, or problem situation that occurred. The population in this study were patient visitor Siloam Hospitals Labuan Bajo in IPD (In Patient Departement). Samples were selected by accidental sampling that samples are available and willing with the number of 32 samples. The instruments used by hand washing procedure 6 steps of WHO. Data analysis used is univariate presented in the form of frequency distribution table and percentage. The results of the research obtained are mostly 17 respondents with 53% presentation have good knowledge, who have sufficient knowledge amounted to 13 people with persentation 41% and those with insufficient knowledge are 2 respondents with 6% presentation. Conclusion hand washing procedures performed by patient visitors need to be evaluated by the Division of Nursings Siloam Hospitals Labuan Bajo to improve the patient's visitors.
