Abstract

Hand hygiene is the most important basic technique to prevent infection, as a nursing student engaged in clinical placement they also have possibility to transmit the infection besides it, students can be a health care providers who was become the infection control team in the future. The purpose of this research is to illustrated the implementation of five moments of hand hygiene from Faculty of Nursing students at Siloam Hospitals Kebon Jeruk. The method of this research used quantitative descriptive and technic sampling for this research used convinience sampling. The samples in this research were 30 students of Faculty of Nursing Universitas Pelita Harapan who were did the Internship at SHKJ. The result of this research showed implementation of five moments for hand hygiene where intended to the Faculty of Nursing students Universitas Pelita Harapan still not enough, 14 students (47%), who did the five moments for hand hygiene and 16 students (53%), who didn’t used the five moments for hand hygiene. The recommendation for the next research is to look the variables that influences the students about how to increase the implementation of five moments / Cuci tangan five moments merupakan teknik dasar paling penting untuk mencegah infeksi, sebagai mahasiswa keperawatan yang sedang terjun dalam pelatihan klinis dan ikut bergabung ke fasilitas kesehatan, mahasiswa juga berpotensi untuk menularkan penyakit, tetapi disamping itu mahasiswa juga dapat menyadi penyedia layanan kesehatan yang dapat menjadi tim pengendali infeksi (infection control) di masa depan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat gambaran pelaksanaan cuci tangan five moments mahasiswa Faculty of Nursing di Siloam Hospitals Kebon Jeruk. Metode yang digunakan yaitu penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Teknik sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Convinience sampling dan sampel dari penelitian ini berjumlah 31 orang mahasiswa Faculty of Nursing UPH di Siloam Hospitals Kebon Jeruk. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa gambaran tingkat pelaksanaan five moments mahasiswa Faculty of Nursing Universitas Pelita Harapan masih kurang, terlihat dari keseluruhan pelaksanaan five moments dengan frekuensi 14 orang mahasiswa (47%) yang melakukan five moments dan sebanyak 16 orang mahasiswa (53%) yang tidak melakukan five moments. Rekomendasi untuk penelitian selanjutnya adalah agar peneliti meneliti faktorfaktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi mahasiswa keperawatan dalam meningkatkan praktek five moments.
