Abstract

Patient safety is a system established by hospitals to prevent and reduce errors in the treatment of patients due to negligence or misconduct provided. Efforts to avoid patients from injury or to fall while undergoing hospitalization also include aspects of patient safety. Nursing students in a hospital are one of the health workers responsible for patient safety in the hospital, among which is preventing the patient from falling. This study aim was to determine the description of the level of knowledge of nursing students about prevention of patients fall in Siloam Hospitals Kebon Jeruk. The research method used was descriptive quantitative, and nursing students at Siloam Hospitals Kebon Jeruk as population. Sampling used total sampling of 43 nursing students. The data analysis used univariate to describe the characteristics of each variable. The results of this study was 25 respondents have good knowledge (58,14%) and 18 (41,86%) respondents less knowledge. The conclusion of this study showed that the level of knowledge of nursing students in Siloam Hospitals Kebon Jeruk in a good category. It is necessary to conduct further research on the factors that influence the students' knowledge about the fall risk prevention in the hospital / Keselamatan pasien merupakan sistem yang dibentuk rumah sakit untuk mencegah dan mengurangi kesalahan dalam perawatan terhadap pasien akibat dari kelalaian atau kesalahan asuhan yang diberikan. Usaha menghindari pasien dari cedera atau terjatuh saat menjalani masa perawatan di rumah sakit juga termasuk aspek dari patient safety. Mahasiswa keperawatan di rumah sakit adalah salah satu tenaga kesehatan yang bertanggung jawab dalam keselamatan pasien di rumah sakit, di antaranya adalah mencegah pasien jatuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran tingkat pengetahuan mahasiswa keperawatan tentang pencegahan pasien jatuh di Siloam Hospitals Kebon Jeruk. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif dengan menggunakan mahasiswa keperawatan praktik di Siloam Hospitals Kebon Jeruk sebagai populasi penelitian. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan total sampling sebanyak 43 mahasiswa keperawatan. Analisa data menggunakan univariat untuk menjelaskan atau mendeskripsikan karakteristik setiap variabel penelitian. Hasil dari penelitian ini terdapat 25 (58,14) responden yang memiliki pengetahuan baik dan 18 (41,86) responden pengetahuan kurang. Perlu dilakukan penelitian tentang faktor yang mempengaruhi pengetahuan mahasiswa tentang pencegahan pasien jatuh di rumah sakit.
