Abstract
Background: self-efficacy is and individual's belief in his ability to do something to achieve the desired goals. nursing students need to believe that they can overcome the barriers that may come in during their study, thus can be successful in their program. in 2019, there was 86,69% students in one school of nursing in Banten with high self-efficacy (n= 223). aim: to identify the self-efficacy of nursing students in Indonesia. research methods: this was a quantitative method study using an online survey. data was collected using convenience sampling method, obtaining 751 participants. the instrument used was the Indonesian version of the General Self Efficacy Scale (GSES) questionnaire which was valid and reliable (Cronbach α= 0.761). data was analyzed using a descriptive statistic method. result: this study found that 421 (56.1%) nursing students had high self-efficacy and 330 (43.9%) nursing students had low self-efficacy. recommendation: it is recommended that further research use more appropriate technique sampling method to get an even distribution in each part of Indonesia and to examine specific factors that may contribute to nursing students' self-efficacy.
