Abstract
limbah berakhir dilaut setiap tahunnya. Dengan adanya hal ini kebutuhan untuk
mendaur ulang limbah plastik semakin mendesak. Perancangan ini bertujuan untuk
mengembangkan produk tas wanita dengan memanfaatkan limbah tutup botol
plastik HDPE dengan menggunakan teknik compression molding. Tutup botol
dibuat guna menunjang teknik compression molding.
Currently Indonesia ranks as the second largest plastic waste producing
country in the world with a total waste of 1.29 million metric tons of waste ending
up at sea every year. With this the need to recycle plastic waste is increasingly
urgent. This design aims to develop women's bag products by utilizing HDPE
plastic bottle cap waste using compression molding techniques. HDPE plastic
bottle caps are chosen as the main material of the bag because they are easy to
find. This happens because bottle caps are only used disposablely. On the other
hand bottle caps have a unique character with many bright colors so that it has a
high potential to be recycled. Meanwhile the bag was chosen as the final product
because the bag is very closely related to the daily life of women. Designing process begins by observing the interests of the target market group.
It aims to make the product more acceptable to the market. After the observations
were obtained, shapes, colors, textures, and technical experiments were then
conducted. Iron modular molds are also made to support compression molding
techniques. The design of this product focuses more on the shape and mixture of
bright colors. From the results of various experiments that have been conducted
can be concluded that compression molding technique is the right technique to
process hdpe type plastic waste, in addition various forms can also be produced
using this technique.
