Abstract

Menurut Sir Ken Robinson dalam pembicaraannya melalui Ted Talks, sistem pendidikan saat ini membunuh kreativitas siswa dan hanya berfokus pada kepentingan dunia industri yang mana untuk mendapatkan pekerjaan, menghasilkan uang, dan hidup bahagia. Semua anak terlahir dengan bakat luar biasa dan pendidikan seharusnya dapat menumbuhkan kemampuan alami tersebut. Oleh karena itu, penulis tertarik mengangkat topik mengenai pendidikan yang dapat membantu anak menemukan potensinya dengan bahagia. Mendidik anak dengan multiple intelligences dapat memberikan kesempatan luas kepada anak untuk menggunakan kecerdasan mereka dalam belajar karena multiple intelligences anak tidak hanya terdiri dari kecerdasan linguistik dan logis matematis saja, tetapi juga kecerdasan spasial, naturalis, kinestetik, dll. Melalui pembelajaran berbasis multiple intelligences, anak akan menjalani pelajaran dengan senang karena mereka belajar sesuai dengan kemampuan mereka. Penulis memilih Masterpiece School karena sekolah ini adalah sekolah anak usia dini berbasis multiple intelligences yang diterapkan pada kurikulumnya. Desain interior memiliki peran dalam mewadahi fasilitas dan ruang yang dapat mendukung kegiatan edukasi anak berbasis multiple intelligences sehingga perkembangan anak terasah secara optimal. Pendekatan yang dipilih penulis dalam mendesain adalah naratif yang bertujuan memasukkan kecerdasan dan karakter anak ke dalam ruang sehingga ruang dapat mencerminkan user/anak usia dini. Penulis juga menggunakan design thinking sebagai langkah dalam mendesain untuk mencari masalah dan potensi, hingga perwujudan prototipe perancangan interior. Selain itu, karena sedang berlangsungnya pandemi Covid-19, penulis menggunakan metode e-interview dalam keterlibatan langsung dengan pengguna ruang maupun expert untuk mendapat masukan yang penting dalam penerapan multiple intelligences bagi tumbuh kembang dan pendidikan anak usia dini. / According to Sir Ken Robinson’s opinion in Ted Talks, the current education system kills student creativity and only focuses on the needs of industrialism, which is to get a job, make money, and live happily. All children was born with an extraordinary talents and education must develop these talent. Therefore, the author is interested to appoint an education that helps student find their own potential happily. Multiple intelligence can provide broad opportunities for children to use their intelligences at school because children not only have linguistic and logical-mathematical intelligence but visual-spatial, naturalistic, bodily-kinesthetic, etc. Multiple intelligence-based learning can make children learn happily because they learn based on their own abilities. Masterpiece School is a school that applied multiple intelligence-based learning for an early childhood as their curriculum. Interior design accommodate facilities and spaces that can support education system so that student develop optimally. The author chooses the narrative approach for the design to incorporate the children’s chacarcter and intelligence into a space so that the space can reflect the users (early childhood). The author also uses design thinking as a design step to look for a problems and potentials until the realization of the interior design prototype. Also, because of the covid-19 pandemic, the author uses e-interview method to engage directly with the users and experts to get an output of the multiple intelligence-based education for an early childhood.
