Abstract

Five moments of hand washing are before contact with the patient, before taking antiseptic action, after contamination with patient's body fluid, after contact with patient's environment, after contact with patient, after contact with patient's surroundings. Disobedience of nurses in doing five moment hand washing will result in the spread of microorganisms from nurses to patients, and from patients to nurses. Based on observations by researchers for two months at inpatient departement Siloam Hospitals Kebon Jeruk Nurse was only seen washing hands when contaminated with patient's body fluid. In Additionally, the obstacles are the distance of place to washing hands is far away and nurses workload. Therefore the researcher is interested to do this research to find out the implementation washing hand by inpatient departement nurses Siloam Hospitals Kebon Jeruk. Researchers use the method of quantitative descriptive research using nonprobability techniques. The population in this study amounted to 106 nurses and 51 samples of nurses. The data used univariate analysis. The result showed that there are 48 nurses (94%) nurses most often do hand washing after contamination with patients body fluid / Five moments cuci tangan adalah sebelum kontak dengan pasien, sebelum melakukan tindakan antiseptik, setelah terkontaminasi cairan tubuh pasien, setelah kontak dengan lingkungan sekitar pasien, setelah kontak dengan pasien, setelah kontak dengan lingkungan sekitar pasien. Tidak patuhannya perawat dalam melakukan five moments cuci tangan akan mengakibatkan penyebaran mikroorganisme dari perawat kepada pasien, maupun dari pasien kepada perawat. Berdasarkan observasi peneliti selama dua bulan di ruang inap Siloam Hospitals Kebon Jeruk perawat hanya terlihat mencuci tangan ketika terkontaminasi dengan cairan tubuh pasien, adapun hambatan lain yaitu jarak tempat untuk mencuci tangan jauh dan banyaknya beban kerja perawat. Oleh sebab itu peniliti tertarik untuk melakukan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui penerapan five moments cuci tangan perawat Ruang Inap Siloam Hospitals Kebon Jeruk. Peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian deskritif kuantitatif menggunakan teknik non-probability. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 106 perawat dan jumlah sampel 51 perawat. Analisa data yang digunakan univariat. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa sebanyak 48 orang perawat (94%) paling sering melakukan cuci tangan setelah terkontaminasi dengan cairan tubuh pasien.
