Abstract

Strategi setiap perusahaan mencerminkan sistem perusahaan dalam menghadapi suatu proyek, bagaimana suatu perusahaan mengelola sistem kerja para karyawannya dalam menghadapi pekerjaannya dan bagaimana output proses kerja tersebut terlihat pada proyek ketika selesai. Layaknya seperti pada perusahaan interior yang memiliki suatu strategi tersendiri dalam menjalankan proses mendesain suatu proyek. Strategi perusahaan tersebut yang menjadi tolak ukur lancarnya proses mendesain apa yang telah dipercayakan klien. Hal utama yang penting dalam suatu strategi kerja adalah komunikasi, yang mana hal tersebut sangat berpengaruh dalam perusahaan desain saat melakukan proses desain. Komunikasi desain sebagai kunci yang menghubungi interaksi pada internal maupun eksternal perusahaan. Desain dapat membentuk suatu komunikasi yang bekerja sebagai pendekatan untuk menyelidiki hal yang memiliki sudut pandang berbeda. Sehingga, komunikasi desain bekerja sebagai intervensi ketika melakukan kegiatan mendesain yang melibatkan penemuan suatu teknik dan prosedur desain untuk mencapai tujuan yang ingin dicapai pada proyek. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif. Data-data dikumpulkan melalui fieldnote dan wawancara semasa program magang selama sembilan bulan. Tujuannya adalah untuk memahami peran strategi komunikasi yang menjadi panduan desainer dalam melakukan proses desain sehingga tercapai hasil desain pada proyek residence. Desain proyek residence berpatokan pada preferensi klien. Maka, komunikasi dalam proses desain penting untuk penyesuaian persepsi antara desainer dengan klien. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat seberapa jauh strategi komunikasi pada proyek residence. / The strategy of each companies reflects the company's system in dealing with projects, how a company manages the work system of its employees in dealing with their work and how the output of the work process looks like when it’s finished. As an interior company has its own strategy in carrying out the process of project design. The company's strategy is the benchmark for a smooth design process which the client has entrusted. The main thing that the important thing in a work strategy is communication, which is very influential in the design company when carrying out design process. Communication design is the key in connecting interaction between internal and external of the company. Design can form a communication that works as an approach to investigate things that have a different point of view. Thus, communication design works as an intervention when carrying out design activities that involve techniques and design procedure to achieve the project’s goals. The used method to gather these data is qualitative. Data were collected through fieldnotes and interviews during the nine-month internship program. The aim is to understand the role of the communication strategy that guides the designer in carrying out the design process so that the design results are achieved in residence project scope. Residence project design is based on client preferences. Thus, communication in design process is important for adjusting perceptions between designer and client. Therefore, this study was conducted to see how far the communication strategy was in the residence project.
