Abstract

Background: implementation of weigh received patients (bedside handover) is very important to patient safety. Ineffective communication can cause unwanted things against patients. Based on observational studies in Siloam obtained 83% of patients not involved when the bedside handover and 93% of nurses are not actively involved in the activities of the handover. Goal: Identify an overview of implementation of bedside handover by the shift in the space between nurses inpatient Siloam Hospitals Makassar. Methods: the design of this research is quantitative descriptive method with the total sampling. Research conducted in Carmel on 16 October 2017-16 November 2017 against 30 respondents. Results: from the analysis of univariate data concluded in general implementation of bedside handover in a category not completed (100%). While the subvariabel preparation phase obtained their implementation in appropriate categories (93%), the introduction of the appropriate category (77%), the exchange of information in the appropriate category (73%), the involvement of patients in the appropriate category (77%) and stage safety scan in a category is not appropriate (100%). Discussion: Implementation of bedside handover in the category are not implemented is likely due to lack of supervision from the head nurse.Suggestion: in order to nurse the commissioning in Siloam Hospitals Makassar do control and supervision by the head with tight when making bedside handover / Latar Belakang : Pelaksanaan timbang terima pasien (bedside handover) sangat penting guna keselamatan pasien. Komunikasi yang tidak efektif dapat menyebabkan hal yang tidak diinginkan terhadap pasien. Berdasarkan studi observasi di Siloam didapatkan pasien tidak dilibatkan ketika bedside handover dan perawat tidak terlibat aktif dalam kegiatan handover. Tujuan : Mengidentifikasi gambaran pelaksanaan bedside handover oleh perawat antar shift di ruang rawat inap Siloam Hospitals Makassar. Metode : Desain penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan metode total sampling. Penelitian dilakukan di ruang Carmel pada tanggal 16 Oktober 2017-16 November 2017 terhadap 30 responden. Hasil : Dari analisa data univariat disimpulkan secara umum pelaksanaan bedside handover dalam kategori tidak terlaksana (100%). Sedangkan subvariabel tahap persiapan didapatkan pelaksanaannya dalam kategori sesuai (93%), tahap introduksi dalam kategori sesuai (77%), tahap pertukaran informasi dalam kategori sesuai (73%), tahap keterlibatan pasien dalam kategori sesuai (77%) dan tahap safety scan dalam kategori tidak sesuai (100%). Pembahasan : Pelaksanaan bedside handover dalam kategori tidak terlaksana kemungkinan karena kurangnya pengawasan dari kepala ruangan. Saran : Agar perawat pelaksana di Siloam Hospitals Makassar dilakukan kontrol dan pengawasan oleh kepala ruangan dengan ketat saat melakukan bedside handover.
