Abstract
This study aims to determine how important the availability of green open space in developing countries and in developed countries. Whether it also affects the condition of green open space in other areas as well as how it affects the wellbeing of the surrounding. This study uses descriptive legal research methods using secondary data and qualitative analysis through interview to answer the problems. The approach of the problem uses the Statute Approach and Comparative Approach. The results of this study indicate DKI Jakarta city government has a very high role in the development of the increasingly dynamic city of DKI Jakarta indicated through the increase of population, economic needs, and the lifestyle of people of DKI Jakarta which can cause the imbalance in the city with its the increasingly dynamic city development, it is necessary to have Green Open Space to provide a balance in environmental quality as well as to provide maximum direction and planning of Green Open Space in the long-term. The Comparison of Management of Green Open Space with Singapore, DKI Jakarta still lags behind Singapore. DKI Jakarta Government still has to achieve 30% of the total area of 661.52 Km2 based on the Regional Spatial Plan. The Regional Regulation regulates the addition of RTH which carried out collectively between the government and the private sector. Whereas in Singapore (area of 625 Km2) and population of 3.6million in 2000 and a density of 5,200 people/km2 projected to have 69% space of the total city area built up. The plan outlines 24% or 177 Km2 as open space.
