Abstract

Combination of Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) system, Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system and Space-Time Block Codes (STBC) increase the transmission quality because the data are divided into several data stream with lower speed and cyclic prefix (CP) is added to reduce the delay spread effect at the channel. It will be shown with BER curve over Eb/N0 in MIMO-OFDM-STBC system in the data transmission simulation based on Matlab. MIMO-OFDM-STBC performance is better than MIMO-OFDM with Minimum Mean Square Error (MMSE) performance for the same antenna configuration. MIMO-OFDM-MMSE 2TX-4RX system need 14,5 dB energy per bit more than MIMO-OFDM-STBC 2TX-4RX system to reach BER point 1x10-4. / enggabungan antara sistem Mulitple Input Multiple Output (MIMO), Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) dan Space-Time Block Code (STBC) akan mampu meningkatkan mutu transmisi karena data dibagi-bagi menjadi beberapa aliran dengan kecepatan yang lebih rendah yang diberi cylic prefix (CP), sehingga mengurangi efek delay spread pada kanal. Hal ini ditunjukkan dalam simulasi transmisi data berbasis Matlab pada sistem MIMOOFDM-STBC dalam bentuk kurva BER terhadap Eb/N0. Kinerja sistem MIMOOFDM-STBC lebih baik dibandingkan kinerja sistem MIMO-OFDM dengan Minimum Mean Square Error (MMSE) untuk konfigurasi antena yang sama. Konfigurasi antena Sistem MIMO-OFDM-MMSE 2TX-4RX membutuhkan energi per bit 14,5 dB lebih besar dari sistem MIMO-OFDM-STBC 2TX-4RX untuk mencapai BER 1x10-4.
