Abstract

Background: One of the cooperative learning strategies is peer tutoring which is a student-centered learning activity to deepen the knowledge about learning that has been received from the instructor. Peer tutoring that has been conducted at the Faculty of Nursing Pelita Harapan University shows varied learning outcomes for students who joined the peer tutoring so far. The purpose of this study: To know the effectiveness of peer tutoring on learning outcomes students class of 2019 in Faculty of Nursing Pelita Harapan University. Research method: Using quantitative descriptive research design. The sampling technique used in this research is random sampling technique that uses 85 students of class 2019 and who took part in peer tutoring of Anatomy and Physiology I period from September until Desember 2019 with documentary instrument. Analysis of the data used is bivariate analysis. Results: The average score of respondents have no an increase seen from the Final Examination. Based on the results of data analysis by using paired simple t-test there is no effectiveness of peer tutoring in students with a p value: 0.157 this result is higher than the significant level α = 0.05. Recommendation: The next researcher is expected to examine the factors that influence the effectiveness of peer tutoring and use different instruments.
