Abstract

Background: Early Warning Score (EWS) is one of the systems used in detecting early deterioration in patients. In measuring EWS, the physiological parameters used are the level of consciousness, systolic blood pressure, pulse rate, oxygen saturation, respiratory rate, temperature, and supplemental oxygen. So nurses need to have knowledge as a condition to be able to perform nursing actions safely. Nurses can also compete to provide professional services to patients. Purpose: To know the description of nurse knowledge level about EWS in SHLC inpatient unit orchid and chrysanthemum. Method: This research used descriptive quantitative. The population of 39 nurses and samples in this study is the entire population that is all the nurses who work in SHLC inpatient unit with the number of 39 nurses. This sampling technique using total sampling is a technique of determining the sample when all members of the population used as a sample. The results obtained will be univariate data analysis with editing, coding, processing, and cleaning. Results: Most of the nurses' knowledge of the EWS in the SHLC inhabitants category was good (35%). Conclusions: The level of nurse knowledge about EWS in SHLC in good category, so it is suggested that the nurse still improve the knowledge in facing the case by using EWS correctly and consistently / Latar Belakang : Early Warning Score (EWS) adalah salah satu sistem yang digunakan dalam mendeteksi perburukan dini pada pasien. Dalam mengukur EWS, parameter fisiologis yang digunakan adalah tingkat kesadaran, tekanan darah sistol, denyut nadi, saturasi oksigen, frekuensi pernafasan, suhu, dan oksigen tambahan. Sehingga perawat perlu memiliki pengetahuan sebagai syarat untuk dapat melakukan tindakan keperawatan secara aman. Perawat juga dapat berkompetensi memberikan pelayanan profesional kepada pasien.Tujuan : Untuk mengetahui gambaran tingkat pengetahuan perawat tentang EWS di unit rawat inap orchid dan chrysanthemum SHLC. Metode: Penelitian ini yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi 39 perawat dan Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh populasi yaitu seluruh perawat yang bekerja di unit rawat inap SHLC dengan jumlah 39 perawat.Teknik pengambilan sampel ini menggunakan total sampling adalah suatu teknik penentuan sampel bila semua anggota populasi digunakan sebagai sampel. Hasil yang diperoleh akan analisa data univariat dengan editing, coding, processing, dan cleaning. Hasil : Sebagian besar tingkat pengetahuan perawat tentang EWS di unit rawat inap SHLC dalam kategori baik sebanyak 35 responden (87%). Kesimpulan : Tingkat pengetahuan perawat tentang EWS di unit rawat inap SHLC dalam kategori baik, sehingga di sarankan agar perawat tetap meningkatkan pengetahuan dalam menghadapi kasus dengan mengunakan EWS secara benar dan konsisten.
