Abstract

Health Care-Associated Infection (HCAI) is one of the hospital-acquired infections resulting from unclean hands. According to Wikansari et al in 2012, the prevalence of HCAI incidence in Indonesia is 7.1%. With a high incidence rate, HCAI is a problem in the prevention of hospital infections. Several studies have shown that handwashing can cope, control and prevent infection. This study aims to see the level of knowledge of hospital visitors about the importance of hand washing in Moriah Siloam Hospitals Kebon Jeruk space. The research design used by researchers is descriptive quantitative. Population in this research is visitor of hospital in space of Moriah Siloam Hospitals Kebon Jeruk which amount to 90 people and sampling technique with purposive sampling with sample 73 responden. The measuring tool used by the researcher is a questionnaire from Siti in 2007 has undergone the validity and reliability test. The results of the research conducted by the researchers showed that hospital visitors have high knowledge (83,6%) about the hand washing / Health Care-Associated Infection (HCAI) merupakan salah satu infeksi yang didapat dari pengunjung rumah sakit akibat dari tangan yang tidak bersih. Menurut Wikansari dkk tahun 2012 bahwa prevalensi kejadian HCAI di Indonesia sebesar 7,1%. Dengan angka kejadian yang cukup tinggi, HCAI menjadi masalah dalam penanggulangan infeksi di rumah sakit. Beberapa penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tindakan mencuci tangan dapat menanggulangi, mengontrol dan mencegah infeksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat tingkat pengetahuan pengunjung rumah sakit tentang pentingnya tindakan mencuci tangan di ruang Moriah Siloam Hospitals Kebon Jeruk. Desain penelitian yang digunakan peneliti adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah pengunjung rumah sakit di ruang Moriah Siloam Hospitals Kebon Jeruk yang berjumlah 90 orang dan teknik pengambilan sampel dengan purposive sampling dengan sampel 73 responden. Alat ukur yang dipakai oleh peneliti adalah kuesioner dari Siti tahun 2007 sudah menjalani uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan oleh peneliti menunjukkan bahwa pengunjung rumah sakit memiliki pengetahuan tinggi (83,6%) tentang tindakan mencuci tangan. Peneliti selanjutnya perilaku pengunjung rumah sakit tentang pentingnya tindakan mencuci tangan di ruang Moriah Siloam Hospitals Kebon Jeruk
