Abstract

Tulisan ini menyajikan tahap perancangan proyek instalasi yang membahas tentang gaya hidup minim sampah. Berangkat dari isu sampah yang rumit di Indonesia, penulis merancang instalasi ini sebagai media edukasi pengelolaan sampah dalam rumah tangga di Indonesia. Proses perancangan diawali dengan identifikasi latar belakang permasalahan, pemilihan entitas buku Sustaination: Zero Waste Bukan Hanya Tentang Mengganti Sedotan Plastik sebagai sumber informasi yang hendak divisualisasikan, serta pengumpulan data menggunakan sumber buku, internet, dan wawancara. Selanjutnya dilakukan analisis data untuk menyusun creative brief yang kemudian digunakan sebagai landasan untuk eksplorasi desain instalasi. Hasil perancangan diwujudkan dalam bentuk prototipe instalasi bertajuk Doeloe+Kini yang menampilkan kontras gaya hidup orang Indonesia pada tahun 1900-an dan masa kini. Hal ini kemudian menjadi dasar untuk menyampaikan konsep 6R yang harapannya dapat memberikan pengalaman interatif bagi audiens dalam mempelajari gaya hidup ramah lingkungan. Setelah perancangan prototipe selesai dan dievaluasi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa instalasi ini memberikan pengalaman baru bagi audiens dalam mempelajari gaya hidup minim sampah, namun pengalaman interaktif antar audiens dan instalasi masih belum tercapai secara optimal, sehingga kedepannya dapat ditingkatkan lagi. / This paper presents the design process of creating an installation project about minimal-waste lifestyle. Departing from a complex waste issue in Indonesia, the author designed this installation as an educational medium for household waste management in Indonesia. The design process begins with identifying the background of the problem, selecting Sustaination: Zero Waste Bukan Hanya Tentang Mengganti Sedotan Plastik as the source of information to be visualized, and then collecting data from several books, internet sources, and interviews. After that, data analysis was done to compile a creative brief to be used as a basis for exploring the installation design. The final output will be made in the form of an installation prototype titled Doeloe+Kini, which presents the contrasting lifestyle of Indonesians in the 1900s and today. This then becomes the basis for conveying the 6R concept, which is hoped to provide an interactive experience for the audience in learning about environmentally friendly lifestyles. After the prototype design is completed and evaluated, it can be concluded that this installation provides a new experience for the audience in learning about minimal waste lifestyle, but the interactive experience between the audience and the installation has not been optimally achieved, therefore it can be improved again in the future.
