Abstract

Perkembangan media komunikasi yang pesat mengekspos anak-anak terhadap ilustrasi yang sangat kaya dan beragam. Dalam buku bergambar untuk anak-anak, ilustrasi berfungsi sebagai sarana utama untuk membantu memahami dunia yang belum mereka kenal. Secara konstekstual, untuk mengukur kualitas sebuah ilustrasi, seseorang harus mempertimbangkan seberapa sukses pesan dapat tersampaikan. Salah satu bentuk media yang menggunakan ilustrasi adalah movable book. Konten dalam e-book, “Seri Binatang Langka Indonesia: Harimau dan Orang Utan,” akan dikomunikasilan melalui ilustrasi naif dalam media movable book. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan metode studi pustaka. Dari data yang telah dikumpulkan dan dianalisis, penulis menentukan kata kunci, yakni playful dan interaktif, yang dijadikan pedoman dalam menentukan strategi media serta visual di dalam perancangan ini. Perancangan menghasilkan dua buah movable book berseri dengan gaya seni naif, yang menggambarkan kehidupan binatang langka Indonesia; Harimau dan Orang utan. Movable book berseri ini juga memanfaatkan elemen-elemen interaktif berupa pop up, lift the flap dan pull the tab untuk menunjang penyerapan materi bagi anak-anak./The rapid development of the communication media exposes children to rich and varied illustrations. In picture books for children, illustrations serve as the primary means of helping to make sense of the unfamiliar world. Contextually, to measure the quality of an illustration, one must consider how successful it conveys messages. One form of media that uses illustrations is a movable book. The content in the e-book, “Seri Binatang Langka Indonesia: Harimau dan Orang Utan,” will be communicated through naive illustrations in a movable book. Data collection was carried out using literature study. From the data that has been collected and analyzed, the writer determines keywords, playful and interactive, which are used to determine the media and visual strategies in this design. The design process resulted in two series of movable books with naive art style, depicting the life of Indonesia's most endangered animals; Tigers and Orang utans. This series of movable books also uses interactive elements in form of pop ups, lift the flaps and pull the tabs to support children’s understanding of the content.
