Abstract

Salah satu upaya sederhana dalam menuangkan suatu peristiwa adalah melalui sebuah cerita atau narasi. Arsitektur berperan melalui tipologi museum dalam menyampaikan serta melestarikan sebuah cerita baik yang mengandung unsur sejarah, seni maupun kebudayaan. Belakangan ini, bidang seni mengalami pertumbuhan yang cukup pesat di Jakarta. Hal tesebut mengakibatkan pengunjung suatu pameran seni maupun museum khusus seni modern dan kontemporer mengalami peningkatan. Namun, museum pada umumnya seringkali terkesan pasif dikarenakan fungsinya yang hanya sebagai wadah akan objek pameranya saja. Museum seolah tidak bersifat universal, dalam artian tidak terbuka dan ramah bagi keberagaman pengunjung khususnya yang memiliki keterbatasan dalam menggunakan salah satu panca indera (gangguan sensorik). Penelitian ini berfokus untuk mengelaborasi pendekatan naratif dalam arsitektur melalui elemen spasial, dengan melibatkan aspek beragam panca indera manusia (multisensory). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi literatur mengenai pendekatan naratif, perancangan museum, penderita gangguan sensorik, dan aspek multisensory yang akan diuji kedalam dua studi preseden museum seni modern dan kontemporer. Kesimpulan yang dihasilkan melalui studi literatur akan menjadi parameter untuk menganalisis lebih lanjut objek penelitian yaitu museum seni modern dan kontemporer yang berlokasi di Jakarta. Hasil analisis dan kesimpulan daripada objek studi berpengaruh dalam merumuskan strategi desain perancangan yang tepat untuk menerapkan pendekatan naratif dan aspek multisensory. Akhir daripada penelitian menghasilkan sebuah desain perancangan museum seni modern dan kontemporer di Jakarta melalui penerapan pendekatan naratif dan aspek multisensory. Hal tersebut bertujuan untuk membentuk pengalaman dan memberikan impresi yang berbeda bagi pengunjung museum, terutama bagi para penderita gangguan sensorik yang memiliki keterbatasan. / One of the simplest attempts to describe an event is through a story or narrative. Architecture plays a role through museum typology in conveying and preserving a good story that contains elements of history, art and culture. Recently, the art sector has experienced rapid growth in Jakarta. This has resulted in an increase in visitors to an art exhibition as well as a special museum of modern and contemporary art. However, museums in general often seem passive because of their function which is only as a place for objects to show off. The museum seems not to be universal, in the sense that it is not open and friendly to diversity of visitors, especially those who have limitations in using one of the five senses (sensory impairments). This study focus on elaborating a narrative approach in architecture through spatial elements, involving the various aspects of the five human senses (multisensory). The research method used is literature study on narrative approach, museum design, sensory impairment sufferers, and multisensory aspects which be tested into two precedent studies of modern and contemporary art museums. The conclusions generated through the literature study will be a parameter to further analyze the object of research, namely the modern and contemporary art museums located in Jakarta. The results of the analysis and conclusions of the object of study are influential in formulating the right design strategy for applying a narrative approach and multisensory aspects. The end of the research produce a design for modern and contemporary art museums in Jakarta through the application of a narrative approach and multisensory aspects. It aims to shape experiences and provide a different impression for museum visitors, especially for people with sensory impairments who have limitations.
