Abstract

Pandemi COVID-19 sedang terjadi di berbagai negara, yang pertama kali dilaporkan di Wuhan, Provinsi Hubei, Cina pada Desember 2019. Penyebabnya adalah virus SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2) yang telah ditularkan dari manusia ke manusia. Di Indonesia pun telah banyak terjadi kasus COVID-19. Menurut data 23 September 2020 terdapat 257.388 kasus terkonfirmasi COVID-19, dan yang mengalami kesembuhan sebanyak 187.958 kasus serta yang meninggal sebanyak 9.977 kasus. Peran masyarakat umumnya, petugas kesehatan khususnya, sangat dibutuhkan untuk memutuskan rantai penyebaran virus SARS-CoV-2 ini, dan memberikan penyuluhan yang benar mengenai penyakit tersebut. Dalam penelitian ini mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan sebagai petugas kesehatan di masyarakat perlu diketahui tingkat pengetahuan dan persepsinya terhadap COVID-19. Hasil penelitian ini merupakan data yang bermanfaat bagi peningkatan mutu pendidikan, khususnya mengenai COVID-19, baik bagi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan, Universitas Pelita Harapan maupun mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran itu sendiri. Tingkat pengetahuan terhadap COVID-19 meliputi pengetahuan mengenai virus SARS-CoV-2, transmisi, patogenesis, manifestasi klinis, faktor resiko dan pencegahan, termasuk pencegahan terhadap terjadinya stigma. Persepsi mahasiswa mengenai penyakit COVID-19 seperti transmisi, faktor resiko, dan pencegahannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi potong lintang terhadap 469 sampel dari seluruh mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan yang terdaftar di angkatan 2016 – 2020 dan dilakukan pada bulan Januari 2021 sampai dengan April 2021. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa tingkat pengetahuan mahasiswa baik terhadap COVID-19 dimana tingkat pengetahuannya melebihi 75% dan sudah melakukan tindakan-tindakan pencegahan yang efektif. baik terhadap COVID-19 karena dari 5 pertanyaan, hanya 1 pertanyaan yang menunjukkan persepsi buruk. / The COVID-19 pandemic is occurring in various countries, which was first reported in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China in December 2019. The cause is the SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2) virus which has been transmitted from human to human. In Indonesia there have also been many cases of COVID-19. According to data on September 23, 2020, there were 257,388 confirmed cases of COVID-19, and those who experienced a cure were 187,958 cases and those who died were 9,977 cases. The role of community in general, health workers in particular, is urgently needed to break the chain of spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and provide correct education about the disease. In this study, medical students of University of Pelita Harapan as health workers in the community need to know their level of knowledge and perception of COVID-19. The results of this study are useful data for improving the quality of education, especially regarding COVID-19, both for Faculty of Medicine University of Pelita Harapan, University of Pelita Harapan and medical students themselves. The level of knowledge on COVID-19 includes the knowledge of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, transmission, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, risk factors and prevention, including prevention of stigma. Students’ perceptions of COVID-19 regarding transmission, risk factors and prevention. This study is done by using the cross-sectional method towards 469 samples from all students of Faculty of Medicine University of Pelita Harapan enrolled in batch 2016 – 2020 during January 2021 until April 2021. Results of the study showed that the level of knowledge that the students have were sufficient towards COVID-19 with a level over 75% and have done many effective precautionary measures. Their perception was also good towards COVID-19 as from 5 questions, only 1 question showed bad perception.
