Abstract

Nowadays, quadcopters are quite common in everyday life. They have many kinds of uses, ranging from hobbyists to the application of aerial photography. But the interaction between the copter and the user are very limited on how it is being controlled. By using the gloves, the interactions between the copter and the user is expected to become easier and more fun to control as well as providing flexibility in terms of giving order to the copter. In this research, a quadcopter control system is developed with a hand gesture that reads changes of the angles with the accelerometer and gyro sensor. PWM signal with 1 ms – 2 ms pulse width from the remote control receiver is replicated using a microcontroller and sent to the flight controller to control quadcopter flight. Quadcopter with wireless XBee transceiver based controller glove has been successfully created in this study. The quadcopter can fly and maneuver following the orders of the hand gestures that are read by the accelerometer and gyro sensor.
