Abstract

Hingga saat ini, Pekerja Rumah Tangga (PRT) atau yang lebih dikenal dengan sebutan pembantu masih sering dipandang rendah dan kurang dihargai sebagai sebuah pekerjaan. PRT sendiri merupakan hasil pergeseran dari tradisi budaya ngenger yang merupakan pekerjaan masa lampau dan lebih dikenal dengan istilah budak, abdi, batur, babu, dan bedinde (Utami, Usman, dan Putranto, 2004). Hal ini kemudian menginspirasi pembuatan film Dipethuk yang memiliki latar belakang cerita serupa dengan isu sosial tersebut. Film sendiri merupakan media audio visual yang mampu berperan sebagai sarana komunikasi massa yang ampuh, baik sebagai hiburan hingga pendidikan yang berdampak secara sosial maupun psikologis (Effendy, 2020). Dalam mewujudkan tujuan pembuatan film Dipethuk berupa memberikan perspektif baru yang mampu mengubah cara pandang dan sikap masyarakat terhadap PRT, maka aspek-aspek dalam pembuatan film perlu diperhatikan. Salah satu aspek penting dalam pembuatan film adalah tata artistik yang terdiri dari tata busana, tata rias, tata rambut, properti, dan tata lokasi yang berperan dalam membentuk tampilan visual dan mempengaruhi kesan serta suasana adegan film. Perancangan tata artistik untuk film Dipethuk dirancang dengan menggunakan metode analisis semiotika Roland Barthes berupa denotasi dan konotasi yang didukung dengan teori pendukung lainnya, seperti teori metafora George Lakoff dan Mark Johnson, teori warna Faber Birren, dan penelitian terhadap media yang akan digunakan. Diharapkan upaya perancangan tersebut mampu memperkuat nilai estetika dan menciptakan pemaknaan yang lebih kuat terhadap kesan dan suasana tampilan visual film terhadap penonton./To this day, maid as a job still underestimated and unappreciated by many people. In Indonesia, maid is a job that has shifted from a traditional culture called ngenger, which is a term for past jobs, known as budak, abdi, batur, babu and bedinde (Utami, Usman, and Putranto, 2004). This fact, inspired the production of Dipethuk’s short film with this social issue as a background story. The film itself is an audio-visual media that can be used as a powerful medium of mass communication, both for entertainment and education, and has social and psychological impact (Effendy, 2020). In realize the purpose of producing the Dipethuk film, which want to provide a new perspective that is able to change people’s perspective and attitudes towards maids, every aspects in filmmaking need to consider. Art direction is one of the important aspects of film production, consists of wardrobe, hairstyle, makeup, props, setting, etc. It has the role of shaping the visual image and influencing the impression and mood of the film scene. The art direction also designed and planned using analysis method with Roland Barthes’s semiotic theory about denotation and connotation, supported with another theory such as George Lakoff and Mark Johnson’s metaphor theory, Faber Birren’s color theory, and detail research about another media that used. It is hoped that this will be able to enhance the aesthetic value of the film and create a profound meaning for the impression and mood of the visual image film on the audience.
