Abstract

Disease can be the leading cause of death in the world, most of the patients died in ICU with an increase in mortality rate reached 25.6%. The treatment of patients in ICU had not only focused on medical treatment or conventional medicine, but had developed in complementary alternative medicine or Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM). Therefore, CAM in nursing needs to be considered for a holistic approach to nursing in ICU rooms. The purpose of this literature review had to identified the using of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) in patients treated in ICU rooms. The method of analyzed the data had used Systematic Literature Review. The search of articles used EBSCO and PubMed databases and obtained six relevant literatures and dianalasis using the simplified thematic approach. The results obtained were the used of CAM that could be applied to patients in ICU form, music therapy, aromatherapy lavender oil, garlic, and acupuncture. The application and development of complementary and alternative treatment nursing interventions should be widely practiced and disseminated. As well as nurses also need to integrate the results of this study as one of the interventions in patients / Penyakit dapat menjadi penyebab utama kematian didunia, sebagain besar pasien meninggal di Intensive Care Unit (ICU) dengan peningkatan angka mortalitas mencapai 25,6%. Perawatan pasien di ICU tidak hanya terfokus pada pengobatan medis kedokteran atau konvensional., namun sudah berkembang pada pengobatan alternative komplementer atau Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM). Oleh karena itu, CAM dalam perawatan perlu dipertimbangkan untuk pendekatan holistik terhadap keperawatan di ruang ICU. Tujuan dari kajian literatur ini untuk mengetahui manfaat penggunaan Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) pada pasien yang dirawat di ruang ICU. Metode yang digunakan untuk menganalisa data adalah Systematic Literature Review. Pencarian artikel menggunakan database EBSCO dan PubMed dan mendapatkan enam literatur yang relevan dan dianalasis menggunakan pendekatan simplified thematic approach. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah penggunaan CAM yang dapat diterapkan pada pasien di ICU berupa, terapi musik, aromaterapi minyak lavender, bawang putih, serta akupuntur. Adapun penerapan dan pengembangan intervensi keperawatan pengobatan komplementer dan alternatif ini hendaknya dilakukan dan disosialisasikan secara luas. Serta perawat juga perlu mengintegrasikan hasil penelitian ini sebagai salah satu intervensi pada pasien.
