Abstract

Musik jazz merupakan salah satu jenis musik yang banyak diketahui oleh masyarakat Indonesia, tetapi pengetahuan masyarakat dan bahkan musisis jazz Indonesia tentang jenis musik ini masih sebatas musik jazz yang sekarang dan bukan sejarahnya. Para musisi jazz juga tidak memiliki tempat yang dibuat khusus untuk mereka saling berkumpul serta belajar bersama. Pada saat ini banyak komunitas musik jazz yang berkumpul pada rumah atau ruko-ruko saja (Ramadhan, 2019). Perancangan ini mencari cara untuk membentuk sebuah pusat komunitas musik jazz yang bukan hanya memiliki fasilitas yang memenuhi kebutuhan para penggunanya, tetapi juga dapat memiliki identitas dari musik jazz yang dapat menarik perhatian dari masyarakat. Hal ini dilakukan dengan mencari relasi pada musik dan arsitektur melalui sebuah elemen yang ada dikeduanya, yaitu rhythm. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk mencari cara mengaplikasikan elemen rhythm dari musik serta arsitektur ke dalam ekspresi dari bangunan pusat komunitas yang menjadi salah satu wadah kesenian musik. Perancangan ini didasari oleh beberapa teori dari pembentukan pusat komunitas musik jazz menggunakan elemen rhythm pada arsitektur dan musik jazz yang dapat berpengaruh pada masyarakat luas dan juga penggunanya sendiri. Dilakukan juga sebuah wawancara sebagai metode analisis untuk mengetahui lebih jauh tentang kebutuhan dari pengguna pusat komunitas musik jazz. Perancangan ini memiliki hasil akhir yaitu sebuah desain dari pusat komunitas musik jazz yang terbentuk menggunakan elemen rhythm dalam musik dan arsitektur dan dipaparkan secara grafis. Perancangan ini dibentuk dari strategi desain yang sebelumnya telah dibentuk. Strategi desain itu diantaranya adalah bagaimana penyusunan organisasi ruang untuk memenuhi kebutuhan dari para pengguna dan juga bagaimana elemen penghubung dapat dibentuk oleh rhythm pada musik sehingga arsitektur pusat komunitas musik jazz ini dapat menjadi simbol untuk masyarakat luas. / Jazz music is a genre that is widely known by Indonesian people. But the knowledge of jazz music even for the jazz musicians in Indonesia were just limited to the current music and not the original music. The places for jazz musicians to learn and show their talent were also limited or they would be in a place that wasn’t designed to fullfil the need for music. This design seeks a way to form a jazz music community center that not only fullfil the needs for the users, but can also be the identity of jazz music that can attract the public eyes. This design is done by using a similar element that both music and architecture has, and that is rhythm. This study aims to find ways to apply the element of rhythm from music and architecture to be an expression of the architecture of jazz music community center. This design is based on several research of forming a jazz music community center using elements of rhyhtm in architecture and jazz music that can affect it’s users and also the public. An interview was also conducted as an analytical method to find out more about the needs of the jazz music community center users. This design is based on the past research of design strategy on forming a jazz communitty center. The design strategies consist of space organizing that can fulfill the needs of the users and an element of connection that was inspired by the music of choice can be the symbol of the architecture. The final result of this designing process is a design of a jazz music community center that was formed with the elements of rhythm in music and architecture. This final result will be then presented graphically.
