Abstract

The incidence of cardiac arrest in the US is estimated to be 200,000 and few survive. In Indonesia, the incidence of cardiac arrest is 10 out of 100,000 normal people aged <35 years and may reach about 300,000-350,000 incidents per year. At the hospital, the code blue incidence rate from January to November 2017 is 38 incidents. Early Warning Score (EWS) is designed to identify early deteriorating patient condition based on observation of vital signs or physiological parameters such as temperature, systolic blood pressure, respiratory rate, pulse rate and AVPU (Alert, response to Voice, response to pain and Unresponsive) which is then calculated in the EWS score. To be able to apply EWS in accordance with the provisions required the existence of a compliance of medical personnel, especially nurses. This study aims to describe the representation of nurse’s compliance in applying EWS in IPD 5. The method used in this research is descriptivequantitative. The sampling technique used non-probability sampling technique that is saturation sampling that used all members of the population as the sample i.e. 29 nurses of IPD 5. The research instrument used is a questionnaire about compliance in the application of EWS that has been tested for validity and reliability, with r table value > 0.444. The data analysis used data normality test which shows normal distributed data, so cut off point uses mean 60,44. The result is that most respondents have a total score of ≤60,44 (52%), so it can be concluded that IPD nurses are not compliant in applying EWS at Siloam Sriwijaya Hospital. The recommendation for the next researcher is to validate the nurse's compliance behavior with observation and to increase more specific research such as what influences the nurse's compliance in applying EWS in the hospital / Angka kejadian henti jantung di US diperkirakan ada 200.000 dan hanya sedikit yang bertahan hidup. Di Indonesia, angka kejadian henti jantung adalah 10 dari 100.000 orang normal usia < 35 tahun dan pertahunnya dapat mencapai sekitar 300.000-350.000 kejadian. Di rumah sakit, angka kejadian code blue dari Bulan Januari – November 2017 adalah 38. Early Warning Score (EWS) didesain untuk mengidentifikasi secara dini kondisi pasien yang memburuk berdasarkan observasi tanda-tanda vital atau parameter fisiologis, seperti suhu, tekanan darah sistolik, laju pernapasan, denyut nadi dan AVPU (Alert, response to Voice, response to pain dan Unresponsive) yang kemudian dikalkulasikan dalam skor EWS. Untuk dapat menerapkan EWS sesuai dengan ketetapan diperlukan adanya suatu kepatuhan dari tenaga medis, khususnya perawat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan gambaran kepatuhan perawat dalam menerapkan EWS di IPD 5. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dekriptif-kuantitatif.Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik non probability sampling yaitu sampling jenuh yang menggunakan seluruh anggota populasi sebagai sampel penelitian yaitu 25 orang perawat IPD 5. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuesioner tentang kepatuhan dalam penerapan EWS yang telah di uji validitas dan reliabilitas, dengan nilai r tabel >0,444. Analisa data mengunakan uji normalitas data yang menunjukkan data terdistribusi normal, sehingga cut off point menggunakan mean yaitu 60,44. Hasilnya adalah sebagian besar responden memiliki total skor ≤60,44 (52%), sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa perawat IPD 5 tidak patuh dalam menerapkan EWS di Rumah Sakit Siloam Sriwijaya. Saran bagi peneliti selanjutnya adalah untuk melakukan validasi perilaku kepatuhan perawat dengan observasi dan meningkatkan penelitian lebih spesifik lagi seperti apa saja yang mempengaruhi kepatuhan perawat dalam menerapkan EWS di rumah sakit.
