Abstract

PT. Metal Sukses Cemerlang is engaged in the sales and distribution of iron in North Sumatra, Medan. As one of the most prominent supplier of iron in North Sumatra, this company often requires its employees to execute their work and sometimes might put the employees under a lot of pressure. Therefore, this company has paid more attention to the well-being of labor force. One of them is by giving incentive to motivate the employees so that their performance are on track and can work optimally in accordance with the company’s expectation. This research uses the theories about incentive and its impact on employees’ performance. The framework of this research is to find out the relationship between incentive and employees’ performance.The methods used by the writer in this research is descriptive research and correlational. Data used in this research are primary data and secondary data. This research uses simple linear regression, hypothesis test and determination coefficient to know the impact of incentive and employees’ performance.Based on research result, the t test showed that the probability value is lower than 0,05 means that the incentive has significant impact on employees’ performance at PT.Metal Sukses Cemerlang. Some recommendations of this research are that the company sets the incentives system based on several criteria according to the department. The marketing department of the company can be set by sales target, while in the accounting department can be set by the punctually in financial statement.
