Abstract

Nyeri kepala merupakan gangguan yang sering ditemukan pada sistem persyarafan dan nyeri kepala tipe tegang merupakan jenis nyeri kepala primer yang paling sering terjadi. Beberapa studi menunjukkan bahwa salah satu faktor pencetus nyeri kepala tipe tegang adalah penggunaan gawai atau media elektronik. Pada umumnya, mayoritas mahasiswa memiliki gawai dan menggunakannya selama durasi yang lama untuk keperluan akademik maupun non-akademik. Tingginya jumlah penggunadan lama pemakaian gawai pada mahasiswa FK UPH dapat menjadi faktor pencetus nyeri kepala tipe tegang dan memperburuk kualitas hidup mahasiswa. Untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara waktu penggunaan gawai dan terjadinya nyeri kepala tipe tegang, maka diperlukan penelitian ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode potong lintang. Sampel yang diambil sebanyak 104 orang dan merupakan mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran UPH serta dipilih menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan pengisian kuesioner dari bulan Januari hingga Februari 2021. Hasil penelitian diolah dengan program SPSS 25. Dari 104 responden, terdapat 85 (81.7%) responden yang menggunakan gawai selama ≥5 jam dalam sehari dan 19 (18.3%) responden yang menggunakan gawai selama <5 jam sehari. 53 (51%) responden terdiagnosis NKTT sedangkan 51 (49%) responden lainnya tidak terdiagnosis NKTT. Waktu penggunaan gawai memiliki hubungan bermakna dengan terjadinya nyeri kepala tipe tegang (p-value = <0.05). Kata Kunci: penggunaan gawai, nyeri kepala tipe tegang, mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran./Headaches are the most common disorder found in the nervous system and Tension-Type Headaches are the most common type of primary headaches. Several studies have shown that one of the triggers for TTH is the usage of gadgets or electronic media. In general, the majority of university students own gadgets and use them for an extended period of time for academic and non-academic purposes. The high number of gadget users and the students’ length of usage can be a trigger for TTH and affect the quality of life of UPH Faculty of Medicine students. In order to know the association between gadget usage and Tension-Type Headache, this research is hence necessary. This study uses a cross sectional method. A number of 104 samples will be taken from the students UPH Faculty of Medicine and are selected using simple random sampling. Data retrieval was carried out by filling out questionnaires from January to February 2021. The results of the research are processed using the SPSS 25 program. Of the 104 respondents, there were 85 (81.7%) respondents who used gadgets for ≥5 hours a day and 19 (18.3%) respondents who used gadgets for <5 hours a day. 53 (51%) of respondents were diagnosed with TTH while 51 (49%) of the other respondents were not diagnosed with TTH. Excessive gadget usage has a significant relationship with the occurrence of tension type headaches (p-value = <0.05). Keywords: gadget usage, tension-type headache, medical students.
