Abstract

Mekanisme koping stres adalah suatu cara yang digunakan individu dalam mengatasi stres yang dapat dipengaruhi oleh lingkungan sekitar, pekerjaan maupun keluarga, mekanisme koping stres terdiri dari adaptif dan maladaptif. Mahasiswa yang sedang menempuh pendidikan di universitas dalam kegiatannya tidak terlepas dari stres. Pada mahasiswa profesi keperawatan, stres meliputi perawatan pasien, tugas dan beban klinik tinggi dan juga lingkungan sekitar yang dapat mempengaruhinya, sehingga penting bagi mahasiswa untuk memiliki koping yang tepat karena stres dalam jangka panjang dapat berdampak pada fisik dan mental pada mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran mekanisme koping stres pada mahasiswa profesi keperawatan Universitas Pelita Harapan. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif kuantitatif, pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik total sampling yang berjumlah 410, namun yang bersedia menjadi responden berjumlah 348 . Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah kuesioner Brief cope dari Carver (1997) yang dimodifikasi oleh Cristyani, et al (2018) dengan Cronbach alpha 0,725 . Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebanyak 317 responden (91%) memiliki mekanisme koping adaptif dan 31 responden (9 %) memiliki mekanisme koping maladaptif. Mekanisme koping adaptif sangat penting untuk dimiliki mahasiswa profesi keperawatan untuk mendukung peran dalam menjalankan asuhan keperawatan. Untuk peneliti selanjutnya dapat melakukan penelitian tentang faktor-faktor lain yang dapat mempengaruhi mekanisme koping/The stress coping mechanism is a method used by individuals to deal with stress that can be accessed by the surrounding environment, work or family, stress which consists of adaptive and maladaptive. Students who are currently studying at university in their activities cannot be separated from stress. In nursing profession students, stress including patient care, high clinical duties and burdens and the environment that can affect it, so it is important for students to have proper coping because stress in the long term can have an impact on students physically and mentally. This study aims to look at the description of stress coping in Pelita Harapan University nursing profession students. The research used a quantitative descriptive design, the sampling used a total sampling technique which was 410, but those who were willing to be respondents were 348. The instrument used in this study was a short explanation questionnaire from Carver (1997) which was transferred by Cristyani, et al. (2018) with Cronbach alpha 0.725 . The results showed that 317 respondents (91%) had adaptive coping abilities and 31 respondents (9%) had maladaptive coping abilities. Adaptive coping mechanisms are very important for the nursing profession to have to support their role in carrying out nursing care. For the next researcher can conduct research on other factors that can influence the agreement.
