Abstract

Twitch merupakan pelopor livestreaming platform di dunia yang memungkinkan orang-orang untuk menampilkan konten yang sudah mereka siapkan, baik itu berupa gaming, berolahraga, jalan-jalan, dll. Namun di Indonesia sendiri, nama Twitch tidak sefamiliar YouTube live ataupun Nimo TV yang sudah lebih familiar ditelinga orang Indonesia. Dengan demikian, mencari penonton bagi livestreamer Indonesia menjadi sebuah tantangan.Berawal dari situ, lahirlah Komunitas Twitch Indonesia, sebuah komunitas online, yang dibuat dalam platform Discord, yang bertujuan untuk menaungi orang-orang Indonesia yang melakukan livestreaming di platform Twitch, dimana pada akhirnya komunitas ini menjadi sebuah hub yang menghubungkan juga antar streamer, dan streamer - penonton. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari tahu seberapa besar peranan Komunitas Twitch Indonesia itu sendiri terhadap perkembangan kanal streamer-streamer Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif serta menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi sebagai teknik pengambilan data. Uji keabsahan data dilakukan dengan metode triangulasi sumber. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa komunitas memang memiliki peranan yang besar terhadap perkembangan kanal streamer, namun perkembangan itu sendiri dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor lainnya juga seperti konten, kualitas serta overlay./ Twitch is the world's pioneer of livestreaming platforms that allow people to display content they have prepared, whether it is gaming, exercising, traveling, etc. But in Indonesia itself, the name Twitch is not as familiar as YouTube live or Nimo TV, which is more familiar to Indonesians. Thus, finding an audience for Indonesian live streamers becomes a challenge. Starting from there, the Indonesian Twitch Community was born, an online community, created on the Discord platform, which aims to guide Indonesians who livestream on the Twitch platform, where in the end this community becomes a hub that also connects between streamers and streamers - audience. This study aims to find out how big the role of the Indonesian Twitch Community itself is in the development of Indonesian streamer channels. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method and uses interview, observation, and documentation techniques as data collection techniques. The validity of the data was tested using the source triangulation method. The results of this study indicate that the community does have a major role in the development of streamer channels, but the development itself is influenced by other factors such as content, quality, and overlay.
