Abstract

Sebuah film dapat menyampaikan suatu pesan didalamnya melalui makna dan tanda. Pesan tersebut dapat disampaikan secara verbal dan non-verbal. Pada penelitian ini mengangkat film 200 Pounds Beauty yang dirilis pada tahun 2006. Dengan durasi selama 116 menit, film ini menceritakan tentang kehidupan seorang wanita yang mendapatkan perilaku body shaming dari orang-orang sekitarnya berupa kata-kata yang mengejek, menertawakan, dan perilaku lainnya baik secara verbal dan non-verbal terhadap tubuhnya. Dalam penelitian ini berfokus pada perilaku body shaming. Metode yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan analisis teori Roland Barthes yang menguraikan denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos memiliki makna tanda, dan pertanda. Sehingga dalam analisis mendapatkan hasil penemuan tujuh adegan dalam potongan film yang menggambarkan body shaming, serta makna sebenarnya dan makna yang tersirat dalam tujuh adegan tersebut. Dampak dari body shaming dapat berpengaruh pada kesehatan mental. / A film can convey a message in it through meaning and signs. The message can be conveyed verbally and non-verbally. In this study raised the film 200 Pounds Beauty was released in 2006. With a duration of 116 minutes, this film tells about the life of a woman who gets body shaming behavior from the people around her in the form of mocking words, laughing, and other behaviors both verbally and non-verbally towards her body. This research focuses on body shaming behavior. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach using the analysis of Roland Barthes' theory which describes denotation, connotation, and the myth of having the meaning of signs, and omens. So that in getting the results of the discovery of seven scenes in the film that depicts body shaming, as well as the true meaning and meaning of the stars in the seven scenes. The impact of body shaming can affect mental health.
